10 Cozy Christmas Ideas
Ooooh, baby, it’s cold outside. Want to warm up inside?!? Here are 10 cozy Christmas Ideas.
This was the other day here in New England, I love Christmas and winter but I’m always cold. When the temperatures dip I’m ready to be cozy indoors. Do you feel the same. I thought I’d share my favorite cozy Christmas ideas with you. As you know each month my friend Jennifer hosts a cozy living home tour and since we’re so close to Christmas I thought I’d share a recap of ideas from years’ past.
10 Cozy Christmas Ideas
Make a Hot Chocolate Bar
This is a super way to warm up after sledding or snow shoeing in the woods. I created this Hot Chocolate Bar in the she shed a few years back.
It’s super easy and festive. Grab your favorite cookies and candy canes and set up an area where people can help themselves.
We like making our own marshmallows.
They’re also excellent for Christmas s’mores.
Hand Poured Candles
Making gifts is so much fun for Christmas. We made these hand poured candles last year and loved using them in our home but also giving them as gifts.
Host a Christmas Cocktail Party
It doesn’t have to be fancy, just grab your good friends and some festive cheer. Make up a batch of my winter gin & tonics. They’re a crowd pleaser.
Light Some Candles
I adore brass candlesticks and tapers from Ikea. I get my candlesticks at thrift stores and yard sales. They only cost a few dollars a piece. I have quite a collection.
These look pretty on coffee tables or across dining tables. So simple and cozy. You can see them in our Christmas Home Tour post.
Get Cozy by the Fire
I love having a working fireplace. We have a ventless gas fireplace and you can see all the details here. I spend so much time sitting here in the living room – reading, sipping tea, writing. It’s my happy place in winter.
Baking Christmas Treats
My son, Conor, and I love to bake at Christmas. We enjoy making Mince Pies and Snowball Cookies. I’ve been invited to a cookie swap so thinking of bringing these.
Conor loves making them for his friends. We started the tradition of dropping fresh baked goods to friends’ homes. It was so much fun playing Santa.
Writing Cards
We love to write cards around the holidays to catch up with family overseas or to write thank yous for our Christmas gifts. These Winter Favorite cards make wonderful cards for both occasions. See all of our cards here.
Fresh and Faux Greenery
I love mixing real and faux greenery throughout our home for a cozy feel. This was our entry last year:
I still need to decorate our front hall.
Here’s an example of faux greenery in our dining room:
Faux Fur Blankets
I love to snuggle up with faux fur blankets. We have many in our home from pretty white ones to a lush navy one. One can never have too many blankets on snowy winter days!
Bowls of Ornaments
I love filling old bowls, especially ironstone bowls, with Christmas ornaments. It’s such an easy way to decorate and makes a home feel so cozy.
I hope that gave you a few cozy Christmas ideas for your own home!
