20 Home Ideas for Spring
While it doesn’t feel like spring here in New England, it is my favorite season. Today I thought it would be fun to share 20 Home Ideas for Spring.
These ideas are so easy, and just bring a breath of fresh air into any space! All you need is some flowers (real or faux), perhaps some paint and an afternoon to play with items you already own. How simple is that?
With all that has been going on in our lives, I’m eager to add some fresh plants and pastel shades to lift our mood and wave goodbye to winter. Having 4 Nor’easters in March hasn’t been fun…

English Cottage Bird Houses
I love hearing the birds singing outside our windows when spring arrives. These little English cottage bird houses are sweet for inside decor.
They also look sweet with preserved moss.
Nest Watercolor Free Printable
Pretty on Easter baskets or framed my Nest Watercolor free printable is so sweet. That color blue is one of my favorites, the boys & I always enjoy seeing the robin, and her fledglings, outside the playroom window.
Chocolate Nests for Spring
Speaking of nests, why not make your own. My kids love making these each year and they’re also great for Easter or spring parties.
Upcycle an Industrial Crate into a Spring Planter
Delicate daffodils and fragrant hyacinths look so pretty planted in a rustic container. I really love how this one has an old stencil, and some grime, from it’s factory days. Moss adds a pretty touch while camouflaging dirt and a plastic insert. Flowers can be found at groceries stories or gardening centers, once the flowers die back you can plant the bulbs in your yard, for next year.
Chalk Paint and Gilding Wax Eggs
Give wooden eggs a coat of Chalk paint in pretty purple tones and swipe across with gilding wax. These look so pretty scattered across a table with pastel hyacinths.
Embellish Furniture with Ferns
Breathing new life into an old dresser is always fun and stencils make it easy to add botanical inspiration to your piece. The simple ferns in vintage glass jars were from our yard.
Forcing Forsythia
This forsythia is from our yard and you don’t need to wait until it’s in full bloom to enjoy it. Cut your branches and place them in warm water. I’ve heard two schools of thought on forcing. Some say to smash the stems with a hammer while I’ve also heard that isn’t necessary. Soon your buds will open and you’ll enjoy warm pops of yellow. This flower always tells me spring has arrived!
My Favorite Faux Florals
I used to be anti faux florals, but over the past couple of years, I’ve found some really great looking ones. I love the ones pictured above from Balsam Hill. The peach roses are so cheerful and the cement vase is so modern.
My newest favorite are these white tulips that have been in our living room since just after Christmas. Aren’t they gorgeous. I just love how long faux florals can last. I’ve also had great luck at Target, HomeGoods and Ikea just in case your looking for some.
Watercolor Bunny Free Printable
This free printable is so sweet for Easter table settings, cards or framed. I offered it last year and it actually was my most popular post of 2017! This little bunny is named Harry and was inspired by our trip to England. Isn’t he cute? If you like him, you might also want to visit my Society6 shop (affiliate link) as he can be purchased on pillows, totes, shirts and more.
Gold Foil Eggs
Take hard boiled or decorative eggs and paint them with a custom blue paint. Isn’t it lovely. It reminds me of Tiffany blue and then use gold flakes to embellish. These gold foil eggs look so pretty piled in a bowl or at place settings for Easter.
Pale Pink Tulips
Even drooping tulips look romantic for spring. Aren’t these beautiful? I simply added them to a vintage ironstone pitcher.
Top a Naked Cake with Edible Flowers
Let them eat cake! Why not celebrate the arrival of spring with an easy naked cake? It’s so pretty with fresh pansies.
Change up Your Bedding & Add Florals in Cut Glass
In the above post, I offer 11 ways to add spring to your home. From fresh linens to adding modern lines and pretty textures.
Make Your Own Spring Party Favors
Age terra cotta with paint and make your own party favors. I picked up the mini pots from the dollar section and then found the mini white plants at Trader Joe’s. This is perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch or a First Holy Communion.
Pretty Pillows and Classic White Tulips
White tulips are classic. They never go out of style and right now they are so affordable at the grocery store. I also love updating my spaces with new pillows. New pillows can completely transform a room and make it feel fresh and inviting with the change of season.
Pen and Watercolor Free Printable
This is my rendition of a Korean Spice Bush and I gave the original to my mom for Mother’s Day. I hope you enjoy it for your own homes!
Paint Furniture with Bright Colors
Bold, bright colors can transform old blah furniture and make it pop. I’m actually thinking of painting Luke’s office in a bold, jewel tone.
Decoupaged Eggs
Not great at illustrations, why not take some pretty graphics and decoupage them to eggs? In no time you have sweet and pretty eggs for your table setting. This is fun to do with your kids too.
Fresh Lavender
I adore the smell of lavender. I find it so calming and relaxing. I picked these plants up when Trader Joe’s has them in stock. Doesn’t it look sweet in this woven basket? Once the flowers pass by, I plant them in our yard to enjoy year after year.
Pansies in Eggshells
Next time your making an omelette why not save the shells? Just give them a good wash and plant some pretty pansies inside. These are sure to brighten your mood on a rainy spring day.
I hope this post gave you some fun ideas to celebrate the arrival of spring. If you enjoy this post you might want to pin this for later!
I have a few more Easter ideas here.
Planters are awesome. I kept near my windowsill in the kitchen room. 🙂
