Seriously Silly – Mo Willems
Who is that man with the pigeon on his head?
My two boys love his story-telling and drawings. During our 7 year old’s dinosaur obsessed days we used to read Edwina multiple times a day, never tiring of the antics of Reginald Von Hoobie-Doobie and the endearing heart of Edwina the dinosaur. Each reading we’d always worry that Reginald would somehow manage to crush Edwina’s spirit.
His Knuffle Bunny books make us laugh and cry.
While our 3 year old simply enjoys the silliness of his Pigeons! This year marks the 10th anniversary of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

I know many of you have little ones who simply love this man’s creative genius and enjoy many moments with your children reading his books.
Seriously Silly: A Decade of Art & Whimsy by Mo Willems presented by The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts will be starting next month. This year also marks the 10th birthday of the Eric Carle Museum.
Festivities will begin in Amherst (for members) on June 22nd and June 23rd will be Mo Willems Day at the museum. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate two amazing birthdays and the start of summer. We’re planning on taking our two boys out to see Mo Willems creativity in action!
Over 100 works will be featured in the exhibition, including the characters from Knuffle Bunny, Elephant and Piggie, the Pigeon, Edwina, Leonardo, Cat the Cat and the Duckling.
We’re also looking forward to seeing the rest of the museum while we’re there. The Very Hungry Caterpillar was the first book given to both our children. John’s 1st grade class also did a huge unit on the works of Eric Carle.
The exhibit will be running from June 22nd through February 23rd, 2014. Hope you have a chance to visit!

Disclosure: I’m being given a family pass to the museum, but all of my thoughts and recommendations are my own. We are very excited to see Mo Willems and all his characters!
So cool! We LOVE Knuffle Bunny around here. I’ll have to look into taking the girls out to the museum, we’ve never been.
