Cinnamon Toast & Vintage Finds
Good morning! I’m so glad you could make it today.
Would you care for a an Americano or some warm cinnamon toast? That is what I’ve been enjoying for brekkie lately.
I’m so excited you are here because I have so many great finds to share with you! See that lovely cut glass shaker. My friend MaryAnn was having a yard sale and she gave it to me. She grew up with them. It was made by Imperial Glass in 1951 – a pressed glass sugar shaker. John helped me fill it up with cinnamon and sugar and we’ve been enjoying lots of lady fingers for breakfast.
Here’s how the kitchen is looking right now:
Kitchen – Now |
I’m not sure the kitchen will stay yellow but it is great for now. Nice and sunny. You all know my fondness for blue. So you may see a couple of new things compared to when you last saw the kitchen before we moved in:

We bought that little island from Ikea and I know it isn’t vintage but it fits perfectly there. Great when pulling food out of the oven or for another surface for prep. The boys love sitting up here to help with dinner.
Isn’t this stool great! I found it at Bent Nail Farm Antiques in Marshfield. I love how it still has the metal supports underneath.
The oriental rug was a gorgeous find from Grillo Oriental Rugs in Braintree. It was a cast off from a estate sale and had been cleaned so I got it for a great price. I really like the glamour of standing on an oriental rug while doing dishes.
Oh, I see what you’re looking at…
My butterflies. That was another find from MaryAnn’s yard sale. I meant to put them in John’s room.
Really, I did. But I just felt like they looked perfect there.
They are real and have been perserved under glass. I’ve always found butterflies such beautiful creatures. Look at the details on their wings.
Just stunning and I love the black frames with the hint of gold.
Rounding out my finds for the kitchen is this lovely antique step stool that we’re also using as a bar stool.
You all know I’m not very tall. So this beauty comes in handy when I need to reach up to those top cupboards. I found this great piece at Bent Nail Farm Antiques as well. Love the aged patina and bits of paint on this one.
Yes, I agree, the peonies are smelling beautiful this morning.
Would you care for a top up on coffee?!?
The kitchen is looking great. Love those mouldings above the door 🙂
I love the butterfly print!
Stacy
Yes, but could it be a latte please !
All your new pieces are great and I love the way your kitchen looks now. You’ve made it really cosy and inviting, and peonies are on my list for a flower bed I’m working on, in my back garden – just lovely.
Gosh, I haven’t had cinnamon toast in years!! Looks yummy and I think I will tomorrow!! LOL!! Your kitchen is great! I love that step stool/bar stool!~~Angela

What great finds and I think it is fine the island isn’t vintage. I don’t think everything has to be. Love that step stool and the peony. I’m going to plant some at our new house.

Your kitchen is beautiful and I can’t imagine changing one thing! We had soft yellow walls at our last house. It’s a hard color to get right but when it is, it’s wonderful. Your butterflies are so pretty too!
Your kitchen looks lovely. I love the built in cabinet and the shade of yellow on the wall.
Love this post…your kitchen is gorgeous!!!! : ) Thanks for sharing…sending hugs…
