Pink No More!

Before moving into our new house, Conor kept saying, “I don’t want a pink room.  I want a g(r)een room!”
The day after we moved in, Conor came down for breakfast with a frown on his face, his arms crossed tight on his chest.
I asked, “What’s wrong?”
He replied, “I slept in a pink room”
Could you resist this face?!?
I started to laugh and promised him that his room would be painted soon.  We just needed to unpack a bit first.  I had all these grand plans of painting his room on that rainy weekend but we were still unpacking.
I’m happy to tell you his room is pink no more!  We painted it yesterday.  I opted for the most lovely pale green – Pale Powder by Farrow and Ball.
Pale Powder by Farrow and Ball
My friends over at Hingham Lumber color matched it for me and I love it!  We actually used this in our first house.  We painted the guest room that color which became Conor’s room.  Isn’t it funny that the first color we’ve painted in both our houses is Pale Powder?
It is so serene.  In some lights it looks like celery while in others appears tan or white.  It is lovely with crisp whites and the blues in Conor’s bedding.
So we got busy painting:

We even had a bit of help from C Man himself!

This is how the room came out.

His room is still a not finished, but I though you’d like to peek at our progress.

He was so happy that his room was green and not pink.  Now he can go back to blowing bubbles-

But it got me to thinking I may need to work on his dresser today…

How funny. My oldest boy has been living in a pink room for about a year now, but that changed this week as well. It had been his sister’s room, but then we rearranged all the rooms and were slowly moving the entire house to one color.

Love the color you chose too.

Great color, and you’re right, how could not jump right into painting for that cute little bubble blower?!

The color is a great one for a boy! I remember when I moved into a room with a red rug and hated it! I was 7 then.

Farrow and Ball is so wonderful ~ I’d love to use their paint more often! I may have to start with a pretty powdery color like this. Looks perfect! 🙂

So you managed it then, I hope he has enjoyed sleeping in his new look room. It looks great now and really cosy and homely.

Thank goodness his room is now green! You know how scared men are of pink! LOL! What a cutie! Hugs, Leena

Conor is adorable! Of course he couldn’t sleep in a pink room 🙂 The new color is just perfect. (And I love the mouldings, too!)

What a cutie pie. He’s sure young to know about colors for boys or girls. Glad he doesn’t have to worry about a pink room anymore. Bless his heart, what a sweetie. They grow up much too quickly. Very nice color for his room.
