Come on In: Nine Nifty Front Doors

We’re getting ready to paint our home and I was looking for some inspiration for our front door.  I thought you might be in the same boat….

What do you think?  Did any of those catch your eye?

The front door is a focal point.  A place to mark your style and welcome all your guests into your home.

Don’t worry I won’t be doing this:

Although it is very cool!  You all know I love England and swoooon over the Union Flag but I think we may already have enough in our house.

I adore this pale green / blue door.  So English and so elegant.

What about vivacious red? Always the life of the party!

I spotted this high gloss Bristol Blue door while we were searching for Gromits in Bristol.  Love the shell detailing too!
Black always offers a bit of class especially when it is in high gloss.  I love Pam over at Simple Details front door:

You may remember this lovely Cornish Cottage we spotted on our stroll through the woods.  Isn’t that bright blue door so happy?

I love On Sutton Place’s beautiful, rich blue front door.  Ann painted it Naval by Sherwin Williams and it looks so lovely, especially with the ferns and her gorgeous wreath.

What about sun-shiney yellow?  I also really love the decal on the door.

Finally, this coastal treasure caught my eye.  It is very similar to our cedar shingles and I love the blue:

Oh, if I brave I’d choose that bold red or yellow, so pretty! Thanks for the sweet mention!

I love a red door! Ours is black and I’ve been thinking about changing it to yellow. I love a dutch door. Would love to have one. Good luck! Can’t wait to see what you choose. xo

I’ve been considering doing mine yellow, for the bright pop of color. So the yellow one keeps catching my eye.

I love front doors, I’m always analysing the curb appeal of people’s houses. My blue door fits my house and somehow I don’t think I will ever change it, and I love the red, and the black but I would now go for the pale duck egg blue/green type of shade, just so pretty !

I just scrolled down my blog list and there was a gorgeous green door on mydesignchic.com – I think I’d like a green door too !!!
Good luck making a decision !

My favorite would have to be the pale green. Looking at these, makes me see how boring my front door really is!

I thought the outside of your home was clapboard and white trim? Are your really going to paint it or just the door? I think I would look for historical colors from the whaling era, not suggesting from Plimoth Plantation 🙂

I have always thought a hydrangea blue would be a nice door color if I could replicate it!

Hi Patti-Ann, yes the outdoor of our home is Cedar Shingles with white trim. We are leaving the cedar natural (replacing some next year) but going to paint the trim and the front door. I love historical colors and as you know I LOVE blue – definitely thinking along those lines. Hope you’re having a lovely morning. x

I love the blue on the Cornish cottage and the blue on the last pic of the house with the shingles. Adore the shingles too! Thank you for featuring my front door. What a lovely surprise…it totally made my day!
