Simone (Before & After)
I’m so happy to introduce you all to Simone:
She’s soft spoken and sweet with just the right hint of femininity. She looks absolutely perfect in the corner of my newly white dining room.
I shared a picture of her before on Monday while I was working on her. In case you missed it, this is what she was looking like when I found her at a yard sale:
Now that she’s painting, I think she’s a real head turner.
She has lovely antique hardware:
Fantastic cabriole legs –
complete with wooden casters!
As I told you the other day, I painted her in one of the new Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint colors – Eulalie’s Sky:
It’s a heavenly blue. I didn’t mix in the bonding agent because I wanted this piece to chip and flake and look authentic.
On the molding and details I used Old White Chalk Paint®.
I also used the Annie Sloan paint on the interior drawers:
I thought soft and sweet Simone would look perfect with a little of Miss Mustard Seed’s new white wax:
The wax itself has a lovely fragrance and was so much fun to apply. After distressing the piece with a scraper and sand paper, I then applied the white wax on top. It gives the whole piece a lovely white washed effect. You can see here:
The wax gets in the nooks and crannies and into the details so nicely. I also love all the colors that show up in the milk paint too. So lovely.
She looks so pretty sitting over in the corner of my dining room waiting for the party to start.
Little does she know the rest of the room isn’t dressed up yet. Sigh. We’re getting there though! Three French chairs painted and the table has been stained and painted. Guess you know what I’ll be doing today while the boys are at school….
What do you think of my sweet and chippy Simone?

I also wanted to let you know that I’m guest posting over at This, That & Life today!
My good friend Anneke, who I had the pleasure of meeting in person at Haven and is just as sweet and pretty as on her blog.
Well, Anneke asked if I’d like to come over and chat. Her blog is an amazing and inspiring place filled with beautiful furniture makeovers, health & wellness and family time. I love it!
I’m so honored to be sharing a bit of myself, Finding Silver Pennies and a little of this and that over there. If you get a chance, I’d love you to pop on over.
It is gorgeous! I love the soft colors. It would be darling in a nursery.
It’s really lovely Danielle. I like the way you put white between the drawers as well as on the detail, and the white wax really looks good.

Those soft colours are perfect in your newly painted room, Danielle. The antique hardware on that piece is so lovely. Can hardly wait to see your finished room!
