Ten Best Moments of 2014

Can you believe it is almost Christmas?  Only six more sleeps!  I can’t believe it is nearly here, but I think I’m ready phew.  But as I slow down on projects and DIYs and get ready to spend this holiday with my family, I can’t help but think about 2014.  I didn’t think the blog or my opportunities could get better, but they did.  I owe a huge thank you to all of you for stopping by and taking some time out of your lives to visit our little spot by the sea.

I thought it would be fun to recap some highlights from this year, so in no particular order,

Ten Best Moments of 2014

1. Better Homes and Gardens!  Our year started off with a blizzard and a magazine visit the same day.  Yes, can you believe they came to photograph us for the spring color issue in a blizzard?!?  You can see the behind the scenes here and a recap here of the feature.

2. Longing for summer I created these fun sea glass bottles. This was a very popular one on pinterest:

Our Sunroom Reveal!  After a horrible run in with a skunk and our dog being quarentined we tackled redoing this room.  It was a lot of work.  We created a driftwood effect on the floors, painted the entire room, including the ceiling and redid some furniture too.  This room was thorougly enjoyed by all this year.

4. My first antique show (The Duxbury Show) and this little mermaid dresser was a big hit.

5. Catching up with my friends at the Haven Conference.

6. I would have kept this dresser if I had the room.  Sweet little Fleur:

7. My GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure and getting to create this master bedroom with my yard sale finds:

You can see bits of our adventure here, here, here and here.  I’ve never been so tired before.  It was amazing experience and I’m so happy I could help a Habitat family.

8. A fall vignette and free printable using some dried hydrangea from our yard.

9. Our guest room is finished and ready for guests.  LOTS of DIYs for this room too.

You can read about the makeover, fixing calcimine ceilings, staining the woodwork and stenciling the wall.
