Beach Stone Garden Markers

Okay, so I know many of you already have planted your gardens.  We just got around to building our second raised bed (the first is full of tomatoes).  I’ll share the tutorial on the raised beds next spring, but I can’t wait to share these little garden markers with you.

A Day at Egypt Beach

At the beach we like to collect things.

Sea glass, rocks, shells, sand in our shoes….

You get the idea.

Treasures

John and Conor are always bringing home more rocks, I mean look how many there are at Egypt Beach!  If this happens to you then you might want to create garden markers with them.

Easy Beach Stone Garden Markers

Here’s what you need:

Sharpie Paint Pens

Materials

Rocks or Beach Stones, flat is best

Sharpie Oil Based Paint Pen

Top Coat (optional)

Method

Simply write on your beach stones (or forest rocks) with a Sharpie Paint Pen. I used white.  They come in all different colors but you know me – simple and coastal captures my heart.

I then drew different patterns and dots around the edge.

Allow to dry.

These oil based pens are water resistant but since I water our plants every day I wanted to give the markers more protection.  I used Artisan Enhancements Top Coat as a clear protective coating.

Applying Top Coat

That’s it!  Your garden markers are ready!

Now I know what tomatoes we’re picking.  Our garden has actually grown and is bursting with fresh tomatoes since I took these photos.

Hi Danielle! You’ve combined two of my favorite things – the beach and gardening! These are so cute! Can’t wait to read your raised bed tutorial in the spring! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Leena

So cute! Our plastic or wooden ones become toast in one season here and these would fare MUCH better! And that rock beach is super cool!
