New Artwork in the Office
I partnered with Minted on this post and there are a few affiliate links within.
A few weeks ago I received an email from my friends at Minted. I knew they did amazing cards, but what I didn’t know was they did amazing art too. Minted has started curating limited edition art from up and coming artists. They have watercolor, sketches, oil paintings and drawings and so many different styles.
This is what I chose for our office:
It is called Embrace by Renee Stevens. She is an artist based in New York who is inspired by being outside and listening to music. Sounds like my kind of person!
So I couldn’t take my eyes of this sketch when I it came across my screen. How beautiful?
Great art has a way of pulling a room together. The office isn’t finished yet but I had this ah ha moment when it went up.
Yes, this is what the room needed!
I knew this would be the perfect addition to our office right here next my desk. As many of you know I’m turning the office into a space that I can use in the colder months (when I can’t head outdoors to my she shed). The office is going to be the space to cozy up with a mug of tea, paint, craft and write.
The artist says, of the work: “This figure study was inspired by the strength of our arms and the softness and comfort they offer. I was inspired while watching my husband holding our newborn child. A father looks so strong, yet so gentle holding their child, their world, in their arms.”
To me this image says more than just someone else’s embrace. But it reminded me of the embrace we must give ourselves. Does that sound corny? Sometimes I feel like we’re our own worst critics. Between comparing ourseleves to others or doubting our abilities. Those words inside our head are worse than anyone would probably ever say to us or think about us. This painting is a good reminder to embrace onself (imperfections and all) and embrace the creativity that is in each of us.
On Minted’s site you can see all their framing options and they offer many – twelve in all. It is fun to see how the frame changes the mood of the painting or piece of art. I opted for the distressed charcoal stain as I thought it gave an old look to the frame but also brought out the sketch and would make a statement against the wall color.
The limited addition prints also come with a certificate of authenticity and a little about the artist.
What could be better than celebrating artists this holiday season? Prints make the perfect gift. They offer great things for kids rooms too! I actually have two more pieces of art to share with you, which I think you’re gonna love but I’ll save the sharing for another day.
I’m also interested in getting some of these watercolor pillows for the office. But I need to get a couch first.
The room is really coming together though, a bit at a time.
It is all working together. The driftwood lamp –

Now, this new piece of art! What do you think of the new addition to the office?
I love black and white artwork and always appreciate good use of shading! It’s a great addition to your space.
Perfect addition, Danielle. It looks like a real sketch!
