5 Easy Fall Baking Recipes
Well, it’s well and truly fall. The calendar even says so now! One of the things I enjoy most about fall is the cozy time inside and I love baking with my kids. I thought today I’d round up some of our favorite easy fall baking recipes for you!
Ever since the kids were little we would celebrate the changing season by baking.
In fall, is there any better scent of simmering apples and cinnamon? Well, I also really love the taste and smells of all things pumpkin!
Did you know that they don’t really have pumpkin things in England? At least, they didn’t when I lived there! I brought a pumpkin pie to work and my boss thought it would be so strange to eat a squash pie! Ha! Ha!
Fall Baking
Today we’re gonna focus on sweet breads, muffins, and cookies. They’re pretty easy to clean up and you probably already have most of the ingredients at home. You may want to add some new baking dishes for a fun fall twist! I’ll share below.
5 Easy Fall Recipes
What I love most about baking together, is that slowed down time; stirring all the ingredients together and waiting patiently for the house to fill with the aroma of apples, pumpkin, or chocolate. Yum!
Then I love savoring it with a cup of tea. If you ask Conor – he’ll have a glass of Hornstra milk, which we get delivered each week to our doorstep.
Easy Pumpkin Bread
This is one of our favorite recipes! I LOVE all things pumpkin when this time of year rolls around. I think the thing that makes this even more special is the pan, which is currently on sale. This harvest loaf pan is so sweet and you can do all different sweet breads in it.
Cornbread – Three Ways
John loves spicy food while Conor finds spicy foods too hot. I created cornbread – three ways to appeal to all the different taste preferences in our home. I ate way too many pieces of cornbread testing this out. These sweet cornbread leaves pair lovely with chili and stews or a roast turkey dinner. They are also lovely served on their own with a nice cup of tea I mentioned before.
Of course, the leaf baking pan makes these three recipes even cuter!
Yummy Orange Chocolate Banana Muffins
This is a favorite after school snack for my kids. The secret is to use really RIPE bananas. Yup, ones that are almost black. I love mixing in Terry’s Chocolate Orange which is a favorite from England.
All you need for this one is a basic muffin baking pan and muffin liners.
Candy Cookies
This one is super fun for Halloween but really can be enjoyed any time of year. The colors of the Reese’s Pieces candy feel very fall though. They always remind me of watching ET in the cinema (child of the 80s over here).
Baked Doughnuts
It is IMPOSSIBLE to only eat one of these doughnuts and I’m not really a doughnut person, but this recipe will convert you! They are light and fluffy and have a lovely taste of cinnamon and sugar. I plan on trying to make some with apple cider and I’ll let you know how they come out!
I recommend getting this special doughnut pan. We’ve made them so many times and each time they com out perfectly.
