Pineapple Berry Relish
This relish is a big hit in our house. My dad always made this every year. It was even served at our family restaurant for Thanksgiving. It’s a wonderful relish that pairs with turkey and other roasted meats. It’s an easy “throw together recipe”. I remember sneaking this with my dad – we’d just eat bowls of it!
Easy Pumpkin Bread
Love pumpkin? If so, this pumpkin bread is just for you! Enjoy it with some coffee or tea. Would also be lovely as dessert after you devour turkey.
Homemade Sourdough Bread
Speaking of bread, why not make some sourdough?!? This recipe makes two loaves – perfect to enjoy those open faced turkey sandwiches Thursday night or on Black Friday. We love to add cheese in our sourdough as a surprise ingredient. If you’re planning on baking some you’ll need some sourdough starter.
Goat Cheese Stuffed Figs
That bread (above) goes so well with these goat cheese stuffed figs wrapped in bacon. Only three ingredients in this easy app! I ate far too many of them when I took photos. The salty bacon and caramelized figs taste so decadent, especially when filled with creamy goat cheese.
Easy Lobster Salad Appetizer
This was a favorite recipe over the warm summer months, but it works equally well for Thanksgiving or Christmas appetizers. This would also be lovely for a New Year’s Eve celebration paired with prosecco or champagne. My secret for making it extra-easy: buying lobster meat that’s already cooked!
Fall Cocktails
Thanksgiving is a great time to experiment with a few cocktails. Fall sangria is fun and festive with apples and oranges.
While Luke’s Old Fashioned is an old favorite! He loves using real Maraschino cherries. The Old Fashioned below has wiskey stones:
Delicious Pumpkin Dip
Hate making pie crust? Why not forget about the crust and enjoy your pumpkin another way? This pumpkin dip only takes a few minutes to make! It’s creamy and delicious. Serve it with apple slices, gingersnaps, or spread on warm bread or toast. The perfect way to add some pumpkin spice to your holiday. Great with leftovers, too!
Grown Up Apple Crumble
A splash of Calvados gives this apple crumble a grown up twist. This recipe is soooo delicious and decadent. The caramel-like filling has so much flavor and is so rich. It is a comfort dish for sure and perfect in place of the usual apple pie.
I hope this gave you a few ideas for Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to hear if you try out any of these recipes! If you do, let me know.
Ohhhh!!! I am absolutely drooling over those figs/goat cheese/bacon!!!! I just don’t see figs in the stores any more. We don’t have a Whole Foods here, (small town) and that would be where I think they would be. ;(
Hi Josette, they are really fabulous. Do you have a Trader Joe’s? I know they get figs in. I think I also saw them Shaw’s. Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving! xx
Yay!!! We do have Trader Joe’s…I didn’t think of it…thanks!!! We don’t have Shaw’s. I have checked Sprouts, which is big here and they don’t have.
Wishing you and your family a Happy, Safe and Yummy Thanksgiving!!! Hope your mom is feeling and doing well after her surgery.
