It was 60 degrees and sunny out on the deck the other day. Perfect weather for a craft project in the Autumn sun!
Some greenery and corks!
My mom brought over these amazing moss ball sticks. Aren’t they sweet? I thought they were the perfect way to decorate my home this Autumn. I loved their shape and texture, however, I didn’t love the color of the sticks (a pale pine) so I painted them with some of our bedroom wall paint that we had leftover:
Painted and original color
The paint dried pretty quick out there. Once it was dry, I sprayed the moss tops with hairspray to keep them green.
Then I took some great corks I got at Target (you may already have some from your wine stash) or you can pick up these for a low price:
I took a green vase I had from Winston Flowers and filled it with corks, the moss and added some sea grass and rosemary (both from our yard) to add softness. The rosemary smells amazing! This herb always reminds me of roasting potatoes on Thanksgiving with its piney aroma. Our whole house smells a bit like rosemary now and it is delicious.
With the moss I was able to make two arrangements. One for our living room (top) and one for our newly painted bedroom. I filled a mason jar (I found in the basement) with beach rocks Conor had collected from Minot Beach along with the moss and some dried hydrangea from our garden. The two arrangements probably only cost me $2 because I ‘shopped’ my house and yard.
Hi, thanks for your comment on my family room. Your email wasn’t showing so I couldn’t respond back 🙂 Hopefully it all works ….I have no idea where I’m going with it but we’ll see 🙂 Love your arrangement with the moss balls! Cool!
