I Believe in Magic
Model Magic that is. Have you ever heard of it? It is a fantastic white clay made by Crayola. It is a great way to spend $14 as your child will have loads of fun with this stuff. Model Magic is better than play dough. It doesn’t crumble when you play with it and it is so easy to mold and manipulate.
My very crafty neighbor, who is a retired art teacher, told me about this truly amazing craft supply. Conor and I went over to her house to so we could ‘play’ with model magic. The white clay has an incredible texture. It is soft (like a baby’s bottom) and easier to mold than most clays. You don’t need to bake it in the oven like femo, just leave it out for 72 hours and your project will dry.

The other day, Conor and I learned to make birds. A fun Autumn project. You start out with a ball and elongate it. Then pinch out wings and fold them down (if you have any points sticking out they may break off when the clay dries). Stick pins in for the eyes and pinch a beak for the nose. You can position the head to look like it is turned or pinch out a little tail. Once it is dry you can paint it whatever color you desire.

I couldn’t wait to share Model Magic with John when he got home from school. He LOVED it. We went through a whole pouch. The big container comes with four sealed pouches. His imagination went wild he made pumpkins:
