Mason Jar Snow Globes
I’ve been dying to share this little craft project with you for ages. I don’t really know what took me so long… This one is so quick and easy AND the best part is my kids LOVED it. They were laughing so hard the whole time.
If you follow me on Instagram, then you maybe saw this photo of Conor making his snow globe.
It got to the point that we ran out of mason jars and used vases instead because he wanted to make more!!!
You probably have some of the stuff to make these around your house.
How to Make Mason Jar Snow Globes
Materials:
– Mason Jars (you can use sauce jars or food jars, just wash and dry before using) or clear glass containers. – Minatures – people, deer, churches, houses, fences, trees, snowmen – Artificial snow from craft store or Epsom Salt – Twine (optional)
Method:
I took Conor with me to the craft store to pick up some supplies. He had soooooo much fun picking out the miniatures! He kept throwing in candy, HUGE candy canes for the yard, gingerbread houses. Let’s just say some of what he selected didn’t make it home. We also got the bottle brush trees at The Dollar Tree.
We lined everything up first. Then we ripped open the artificial snow and filled up the jars.
John and Conor loved the snow because it has sparkles in it.
I cut the fence for them so it could fit. A grown up should do this because it is hard to cut through the wire.
Then they placed different scenes inside.
They were giggling the whole time, talking about their little worlds. It was nice to find a craft that entertained both of them. John is now 8 and Conor is 5 and they both really enjoy it. I just wished it lasted a little longer in making them. I think we were done in under a half hour.
We tied red and white baker’s twine on each one! That is how we made Mason Jar Snow Globes.
We’ve been enjoying them in EVERY room. From the hot chocolate bar we had in the living room:
Upstairs in the guest room with our nautical garland:
And now out in the sunroom as a simple table display:
They are so cute! They would be perfect as a gift or to decorate a bedside table in a child’s room.
What Christmas crafts have you been doing with your children? Will you try these?

Thank you for this, Dani. The girls and I are going to make these tomorrow! I am trying to figure out how I could stretch the time to about two hours….
Danielle, the boys did a fabulous job of making their snow globes. They look so wintery and cute!
I’m featuring this post on a special edition round up of Shabbilicious Friday on my blog today.
Merry Christmas – Kerryannne
