Our Romantic Homes Feature

I am so excited that I can finally share our home is featured in the July issue of Romantic Homes Magazine.

Romantic Homes July Issue - Our Home is Featured! - Finding Silver Pennies

If you LOVE coastal style this issue is for you. It’s the July issue but is on newsstands currently.

I started my blog (nearly 7 years ago – I can’t believe that’s how long it’s been) because I wanted to write. Initially, I wanted to write about my parents’ restaurant which I grew up in. It was gonna be either fiction or a memoir,  I kept trying to write that book but my passion for coastal life here in Scituate and raising our young family seemed a subject matter that overflowed. I didn’t have to toil away. So many ideas would pour out of me and still do.

My good friend Courtney over at French Country Cottage is the editor of Romantic Homes and she reached out to me a while back about feature our home. I was flattered but we were in the process of doing our bedroom over and other household projects. Fast forward to last spring and she reached out again. The magazine was doing a coastal issue and wanted to feature our home!

Our home has a 10 page spread!!!!

It really is exciting to see the hard work of our family reflected in the pages of such a beautiful magazine.

Seaside She Shed with Americana Flair - Finding Silver Pennies

All the photographs featured in my story are my own which is such a dream come true as a self-taught photographer.

I shared with Michelle Mastro (author of the story) tips for achieving coastal style.

So much of our home is featured.

My Coastal Style Tips Featured in Romantic Homes Magazine - Finding Silver Pennies

It’s a great read for the beach or poolside but also perfect to inspire you to get the coastal look in your own home, even if you’re miles from the sea.

Coastal Master Bedroom - Finding Silver Pennies

Get tips from Rachel Ashwell, the shabby chic creator! Her beach home is so relaxed and fun. I’ve always been a huge fan of hers, way back when we were renting an apartment. Visit a picturesque 17th century retreat in France and a 1930s getaway on the Sussex Coast. This issue celebrates so many different coastal styles.

In addition to our feature story, I also wrote and photographed an article – New England Getaway – about Bristol, RI. I will share more on this article in a separate post, but you can see some of the article here.

New England Getaway - my story and photography of Bristol, RI - Finding Silver Pennies

A HUGE thank you to you, dear reader, for encouraging me over the years. I could never have imagined I’d be featured in a magazine alongside Rachel Ashwell when I started my blog. You all have encouraged me over the years to try new things and persevere. I am so grateful to have such amazing readers. I also want to thank Romantic Homes for the beautiful feature of our home and of my article on New England. Coastal Style is my favorite and its lovely to see it celebrated in this way.

I can’t wait for you guys to read this issue. Be sure to let me know what you think!

I know how exciting this must be for you! 10 pages!! I have to pick up the magazine soon. I love coastal style. We don’t live on a coast, but on a large lake, and I love to give it a bit of nautical vibe.

Your home is beautiful. I love all the light. You’ve become a great photographer, too, blogging can really bring out the best of us!
