DIY White Christmas Wall Hanging
Let’s get in the Christmas spirit with a DIY White Christmas Wall Hanging!
It’s such a strange time for us bloggers. It’s fall but we’re trying to give some Christmas ideas, as well. I haven’t broken out all the Christmas ornaments and decorations just yet as we host Thanksgiving at our house, but I have a feeling that this year we’ll be having a Christmas tree up during Thanksgiving. So I may be sharing both Christmas and Thanksgiving ideas over the next two weeks. I know very seasonally confusing as I LOVE both holidays.
Today, I’m excited because I’ve teamed up with 30 friends to share some beautiful Christmas free printables in a blog hop organized by good friend Kristen.
My free printable is inspired by my favorite Christmas song, White Christmas! I love snow at Christmas time and I’m hoping for a white Christmas and New Year!
I wish I could tell you I hand lettered this sign, but I didn’t. It’s a font I found that looks like beautiful hand lettering. Isn’t it so pretty? I love classic holiday decor and I thought it would be fun to create an oversized wall hanging.
To do this, I took my file to Staples and had them print it on heavy duty paper. The file is quite big so you can print it as large as you like. I did 16 x 20. The print cost me $19 but would have been cheaper if I used a coupon. I made sure the paper was flat before creating my wall hanging.

DIY White Christmas Wall Hanging
Materials
- Free Printable (download below)
- Wood (we used leftover pine)
- Wood Stain (I used this)
- Eyes
- Twine
- Wood Glue
Method
We measured and cut the wood to size. I stained the wood pieces before affixing the printable.
I used Ebony stain which is a very dark brown but thought it would tie in nicely with the black writing. Allow the stain to dry completely. I waited overnight.
I would recommend attaching the eyes on either side of the wood before glueing the free printable. We did it after and I think it would be easier the other way around.
Apply a bead of glue along the under-side of the wood and spread evenly. Line it up with the free printable. We placed some cans on top to hold the wood onto the paper. It dries within 30 minutes, but we waited overnight to be sure.
Attach jute or string and hang!
It’s so simple but looks perfect with our neutral decor.
I’ve used a faux greenery, ironstone, candles and this beautiful garland from Balsam Hill to decorate with. I’m sure the table decor will change several more times between now and Christmas.
The pretty ribbon was from Magnolia Home’s Hearth and Hand collection at Target last year. I think they’re already starting to put more Christmas stuff out. Eeek! Not that I need more Christmas decor. Ask Luke about that…
The sunlight looked so pretty streaming in here the other morning. I just have to share one more photo. 😉
Already getting so excited about Christmas festivities in here.

These printables are for your own personal use. I’m happy for you to share them with family and friends but please don’t sell them.
I created the white one as shown in the post but I also did one with a chalkboard background, too.

These would also look great on the place settings at Christmas.

Such a super idea and who doesn’t love the song White Christmas? I also like the font you chose. Wish I had handwriting this beautiful. My mom sure did.
Enjoy your day

Well, today in Okla. where i live it seems like Christmas for we are getting our first snow. I love this song also and the way it looks handwritten. Thanks i will enjoy this.
This is so beautiful and it looks like it was hand written, love it!
I love how this looks hanging on your wall. It really does look like it has been handwritten.
This looks so good, Danielle! I love it with the wood hangers. The black and white is so classic!
Hugs, Jamie
So pretty!!
What a great idea. I love the chalkboard look sign.
I know this is an old post, so maybe that’s the reason. I can download the black chalkboard, but not the white.
Interesting. I’m not sure why there’s an issue. I will email you both!
