Simple Coastal Christmas Mantel
Using greenery, candles, and ornaments I’ve created a simple coastal Christmas mantel.
Living so close to the ocean, I like to keep our Christmas decor light and airy.
Today, is the third week of Seasonal Simplicity hosted by my good friend Krista. Today my friends are sharing their amazing mantels and vignettes – 27 in all! I’ve included all the links at the bottom of the post.
I had little helpers while decorating; Max and Poppy were super excited that we were pulling the Christmas ornaments out!
If you follow me on Instagram you may have already seen this photo. Max got so excited by the tree and decorations that I think he ingested some sparkles. We had to rush him to the ER at the vet and were there until midnight. He’s fine now. Hopefully, he realizes the sparkles are better on the tree. I’ll be sharing our Christmas Tree this weekend I can’t wait for you to see it. I’ve been turning the lights on and enjoying that warm, magical glow. This year we decided on a muted palette of navy, aqua, and whites mixed with the greens.
I started by scattering this soft, faux greenery on our mantel. I used two lengths. I got it a few years ago from a local florist and love using it for the holidays. It’s very pliable and has soft, sparkling snow on it.
I used pillar candles and some fairy lights mixed in.
I also placed the birch candle holders I shared the other week on the mantel.
The ornaments are part of set from Balsam Hill. I love how they look like sea glass covered in snow and ice. So perfect for our coastal home.
Max and Poppy seem very pleased with the decorations.
I must admit I love sitting here by the fire. It’s so relaxing. In fact, I sat here last night sipping tea and reading magazines.
You may recognize the snowy galvanized stars from the other week.
This year I’m already feeling a little frazzled by the holidays and I’m craving simplicity. I hope you enjoyed our simple coastal mantel. I’ll include a few sources below.

I hear you with the dogs and excitement with Christmas decorations. When Reeses sees the boxes come out he spends the day following me around. As soon as he hears a noise he turns and I have to let him smell everything. Luckily he never ingests anything.
Peanut is interested but she’s too lazy to get up.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving
