Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape with Maple Branches

Life is stressful enough why not keep it simple for the holidays. Today I’m sharing our simple Thanksgiving tablescape.

Are you all hosting Thanksgiving this year?

We are. Just a small meal with my mom and our boys. We’re having the traditional spread – turkey, mashed potato, stuffing, gravy, roasted squash, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for dessert. There’s something so comforting with doing what’s traditional.

Crystal decanters and an elegant Thanksgiving tablescape

Thanksgiving is my mom’s and my husband’s favorite. What could be better than a holiday devoted to food, right?

This will mark our first Thanksgiving without my dad. I will miss his cranberry relish and seeing him at the head of the table. He was a diabetic who was very strict with himself, but he let things slide on Thaksgiving, sure to have cranberry relish and pie. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him and hope we’re making him proud. I know he’s with us and watching over us.

Life is short and it’s important to make special memories.

Decorating with beautiful maple leaves

I wanted this tablescape to focus on the special beauty of life and nature. These leaves have passed now (I took the photos last week), but how beautiful they were while they lasted.

This branches are from a beautiful tree in my friend, Barbara’s yard. I’m thinking I’d love to plant one in our front yard. An Acer tree.

The scarlet leaves are so beautiful and don’t need much more to enhance them.

Simple Fall Tablescape

Just a few crystal decanters.

White Ikea plates, chargers I painted to look like aged copper and linen napkins.

Maple leaf branches and ironstone

I’ll be taking a few days off from the blog and social media to enjoy time with my family.

Lately, I’ve been feeling a little tired and overwhelmed and frazzled. Life has been hectic and I feel like I’ve been trying to do too much, said yes to too many things, and am feeling generally burnt out. Crazy when it isn’t even Christmas yet.

That first Thanksgiving without a parent is so hard. My Dad passed away last year the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We were numb last year but I think it will hit me this year. So very sorry you lost your Dad too,

Love the tablescape, so pretty and love the color. You are so creative and it all looks simply elegant.

I hope you have a wonderful day with your family.
