Christmas Lights at Night Home Tour
Pretty twinkling lights inside and outside make our home feel magical. Excited to share our Christmas Lights at Night Home Tour with you.
Welcome to our home in Coastal New England. We live in Scituate Harbor in an old Dutch colonial with our two boys and two rescue dogs. You may have seen our little town on the national news – we often get hit hard with Nor’easters and blizzards. Our home isn’t right on the water so we’re usually protected but do lose power. In fact, we just had our first snow storm and first snow day!
Between the snow and the tinkly fairy lights I feel like we’re living in a bit of a snow globe. If you’re visiting from Julie Blanner’s blog, or any of the other blogs taking part, welcome to our home! I’m Danielle! I love antiques, blue and white, and all things coastal. I’m also a HUGE fan of old homes. I’m excited to share our home at night:
Twinkling Lights Outside
We have two Christmas trees – one in the sunroom (above) is really just to look pretty and one in our living room.
This is the first year we’ve done lights in our window boxes and around our bushes. We planted the bushes 7 years ago and this is the first year they’re big enough to decorate.
They’re buried a bit under snow right now…
Let’s go through the gate to our back yard.
Can you see all of Max and Poppy’s footprints?
The she shed / pool house:
The string lights on our back deck are up all year round, but they look so pretty paired with the snow:
Come on in! Would you care for Sparkling Cranberry Cocktail while we tour inside?
Brrr! It’s chilly out there!
Pretty Lights in the Sunroom
This room glows with the frosted lights on our flocked tree. Its only a three season room so it’s pretty cool out here.
Flickering Candles in the Dining Room
There’s nothing like long tapers and brass candlesticks for instant ambiance.
I love mixing and matching holders and votives. We like making candles and also use affordable tapers from Ikea.
The Warm Glow in Our Living Room
Our main Christmas tree casts a warm glow in this room.
This is where we snuggle and watch Christmas movies 😉
We love to sip wine or warm drinks by the fire. It’s my favorite spot to read, too.
Conor’s my little ham. That box is actually empty. Ha! Ha!
Well, that’s our home! I hoped you enjoyed seeing it glowing at night. If you’d like to see it during the day you can see more here and here. Thank you so much for joining me! I love your beautiful old home, Danielle! And the glimpse of your family is especially sweet. Wishing you all the very best Christmas and happy New Year! xx
Aw, thank you so much for hosting this beautiful tour. I always get nervous about nighttime photos because I don’t really do them much but it was fun to try xx
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. Looks like you will have a white Christmas! It is so beautiful but when it gets so deep I have a hard time keeping the “pooppie trail’ clear, as I call it for my two wee dogs in the backyard.I love everything you have done to your home inside and out. Christmas is so magical, isn’t it? And I think even more so at night with all the beautiful twinkling lights.
Merry Christmas to all there!
Hugs from us here
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas, Brenda xx I know what you mean about the poopie trail. Ha! Ha! Poppy is usually fine but Max has a hard time when the snow gets deep. Keeping my fingers crossed that the snow stays for Christmas. Hope you have a wonderful holiday xx
Just beautiful and warm. Your did a great job with the lights.
Thank you for stopping by, Judy. I hope I captured how magical they feel in person. Merry Christmas! xx

I love your night tour! I had to look twice at your beautiful rug. We have one kind of similar that we bought in Kazakhstan! Our is from Azerbaijan since the Kazak rugs are the size of a room! I love all your beautiful Christmas decor!
