We are in second winter here in New England. Everything is brown and mucky and the grass isn’t green yet. I don’t know about you but I’m CRAVING warm spring rain, fresh grown grass, flowering branches, hearing the birds and all my favorite spring flowers including tulips, hyacinths, and lily of the valley (my favorite). I thought it would be fun to celebrate spring in home decor!
For me spring, always symbolizes rebirth, a second chance if you will. It’s like a new beginning and after the spring we had last year I think we all need a second chance.

1. Set the table for Easter using antiques, fresh flowers & plants
I mixed what I had at home to create this pretty and natural brunch table. Woven placemats and runner set the stage for shimmering eggs, gleaming flatware and vintage candlesticks.
2. Create Placecards with Watercolor Chicks
Get your printer going! I have several adorable watercolor chicks to include in your spring decor.
3. Clip Some Forsythia
Forsythia always feels happy to me. I love the bright pops of yellow in ANY room! Here I’ve shoved branches in a tea light holder.
4. Make a Wreath
Using a store bought wreath form use faux flowers, moss, and pussy willows from the grocery store.
5. Dress Up Your Bar Cart with Pale Pink Tulips
Most supermarkets have bunches of tulips this time of year. It’s amazing how they can instantly transform a corner of one’s home.
6. Forage Your Yard to Make DIY Birds Nests
This is one of my most favorite projects. It combines my love for nature, spring, and Cadbury Mini Eggs 😉 There’s also a fun video that goes along with this post.
7. Gold Foil Eggs
Aren’t these eggs the prettiest blue? I love the little sparkle they add to a bowl or a table. I used wooden eggs so they can be used each season.
8. Dip Dye Napkins and Set the Table
Dip dyed napkins are fun to make and also look beautiful for a spring tablescape!
9. Make Paper Flowers
Paper peonies look pretty on a tablescape or the perfect way to dress up a present!
10. Flop Eared Bunny Printable

11. Fill a Basket with Lavender

What do I look for when shopping for candle sticks like you use on your timing room table?

Hi Ethel, ooooh, I love vintage brass candlesticks. The ones in the middle of my table were my parents, given to them for their wedding in 1970s. I collect the candlesticks. I find them at thrift stores, antique stores and yard sales. I love the gold foiled eggs, they are stunning. This is such a fun month and I’m enjoying all the pretty spring photos everyone is posting. Like you we are still in the mud, dead grass, and frosty season here. I’m anxiously awaiting signs of spring and have hopes it will come soon.
The brown and mucky season. I don’t love this but love what it brings about. Looking forward to beautiful blooms, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and all things spring brings!
I love all your ideas of embracing spring, Danielle. We are still very mucky and brown in most cases, too. However, blue skies and sunshine this past week after flooding rains was the most welcome sign of all! I have seen hellebore and my first daffodils blooming (and pansies, of course), but have yet to see the forsythia bloom, only buds. Soon!
Warm weather is headed our way on Wednesday and I CAN’T wait. I haven’t seen pansies yet but I’m on the lookout. I need to go check out my Forsythia to see if its budding yet.
