Christmas Centerpiece

I’m slowly crossing things off the Christmas “to do” list. Our home is simply decorated and the presents are all hidden in the closets waiting to be wrapped. As my last post of the year, I wanted to share a very simple Christmas Centerpiece.

If you’re short on time or money or both – this one is for you! It costs nearly nothing to put together.

White tapers, fragrant greenery, and an antique platter is all you need to create this beautiful and classic centerpiece.

Why You’ll Love This Easy Christmas Centerpiece

• You can make it in less than 5 minutes
• You probably already have the elements at your house
• It’s festive and can be used all winter!

What You Need For Classic Display

• White tapers
• Evergreen branches
• a tray or platter
• Other elements like shells or ornaments are optional

How to Get this Look

Step 1 – Start with a tray or platter. I’m using a large ironstone platter.

Step 2 – Place white taper candles in a candle holders and put them on platter.

Step 3 – Layer in fresh cut greenery.

Step 4 – (optional) add some starfish, shells or ornaments

Tips for Sourcing Styling Elements Affordably

I think we all love a good bargain, don’t we? As many of you know I collect Ironstone. I always am “on the hunt” for it because I love how it looks in my home and it’s functional too for styling but also serving. I’ve bought Ironstone at antique stores but I’ve found the best prices at Thrift Stores and Savers. I actually found this large ironstone platter over the summer at a little thrift store in Duxbury and couldn’t believe my luck. I think it was $5 and it was buried under things.

For candles and tapers I love Ikea. They’re a great price!

Greenery I source from our yard and from friend’s yards (with their permission, of course).

Starfish and shells I source here on Amazon.

Brass candle holders are also from thrift stores or antique shops.

2022 has been a very full year with lovely family adventures at home and abroad, growth in my online stationery business, including some lovely magazine features and pop up events and launching fabrics and wallpaper, but it’s also brought some sickness to our family. I will be taking the rest of 2022 into 2023 off to care for my mom, but will be back here once she’s feeling better.
