Scituate Lighthouse in the Snow
Back in October I had the honor of doing a live painting demonstration at Joye as part of the Scituate Harbor Cultural District Art Walk. I decided to paint Scituate Lighthouse in the Snow.
Many of you know that Scituate Lighthouse holds many special memories for me and my family. My dad really loved the lighthouse and living on Lighthouse Road when he retired from the restaurant. I often visit the lighthouse when I want to be close to him. I loved my parents’ house on Lighthouse Road and we have so many wonderful memories there.
Scituate Harbor Art Walk
I used an image of the lighthouse they took back in 2001 as a reference. Here you can see my set up in the corner of Joye. If you look carefully, you’ll see the photo of the lighthouse in the lefthand corner.
The Scituate Harbor Art Walk was held on Friday October 4th and it was such a beautiful evening. The sun was shining and was so warm and a lovely sunset of cotton candy sky followed. Many artists, performers, and musicians were dotted around the harbor. There were loads of people out enjoying the art and it was wonderful!
I was so excited to be painting at Joye.
Nancy has always been such an amazing supporter of mine and I love everything she carries at Joye. You may remember I interviewed her for Creativity Over Coffee. You can see some more images from the art walk here.
It was a super evening and I’m still thinking about it and smiling.
Scituate Lighthouse in the Snow Ornament
So I starting thinking about my little painting and I know many other people also love the lighthouse and that it has special meaning for them. So I started think about products I could put the lighthouse on. With the holidays coming I really wanted to do an ornament. I just got them back and they look so beautiful.
The lighthouse watercolor is printed on a 4″ x 2.25″ of aluminum. The watercolor painting is printed on both sides and comes with a pretty red satin ribbon to hang on your tree. A beautiful heirloom to gift and pass down to family.
Scituate Lighthouse in the Snow Art Print
In addition, I also have signed 8″ x 10″ giclée prints of the painting which you can gift as is or pop in a frame. A great gift for anyone on your list, especially people who love Scituate Lighthouse!
SHORE Arts and Craft Fair
Both are available in our online shop now but I will have them in person at the Shore Arts and Craft Fair which is happening this Saturday, November 16th from 10am-3pm. We love supporting Scituate schools through this event and will be in our usual spot in the big gym. I have a limited number of both ornaments and prints. I hope you like them as much as I do!
