A New Chandelier in the Office

Well, I just lied to you….

It isn’t a new chandelier.  It’s an old chandelier.

Luke actually found this piece at the dump. Gosh, it must have been a good year ago now. We put it down in the basement with all our treasures and there it sat.  But I had BIG plans for this little chandelier.

BIG.

HUGE.

Plans.

This chandelier was going to replace this light:

You all know I’ve been hard at work in the office.  I shared my inspiration last year. This room has taken longer than I thought but I’m so glad I’m taking my time.

I painted the walls when the kid went back to school which was a huge transformation. The Revere Pewter on the walls is so calming and it looks great in any light and now it even looks better with my “new” light.

I also added a new piece of art from Minted that I’m in love with.  I have my eye on an amazing new rug and I’m still mulling over a couch.  Luke and I are also talking about building some kind of storage.

See? Changing one thing can then make me think of something else I want to do.

Let me get back to this light.  Can you believe Luke found it at the dump?  I’m grateful to whoever brought it there.

Pretty Vintage Chandelier

It was a little dirty but had almost all the crystals which are so beautiful, by the way!

See?  So pretty how they sparkle in the light!

I cleaned them up before we hung it. The only thing Luke had to do was rewire it.  His tips on this were to take plenty of photos and know how the chandelier goes back together.  He recommends using WD-40 to help dismantle the chandelier .  A few other tips: make sure you use the right wire for the job and he always uses the caps to join the wires and then wrap that in tape too. 😉

Ah, that hubby of mine.  He’s a keeper!  Not only did he find this incredible piece but he made it work and hung it up for me.

Hanging the chandelier

We got a ceiling medallion to finish the look and hide any missing ceiling.

Doesn’t it look perfect?

I had planned on taking some more styled photos of it in the room, but it is a dark, gray day and couldn’t wait any longer to share. Besides that this room has a few Christmas presents and Luke’s mess from working from home last week.

I didn’t think you’d mind.

What do you think of my new, old chandelier?

I’m IN LOVE with it and with my husband!

It’s like it was meant to be.
