A Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape
Can you believe Thanksgiving is in a few days? I’m sharing a simple Thanksgiving Tablescape.
First let me say this post might look familiar if you clicked on it earlier, but my whole site got wiped out today and I had to rewrite this post. So my apologies if you’re seeing a new version of this same post. I also wanted to share just how grateful I am for all of you who read my posts each day, leave comments about our home and our family. Going on my blog and seeing a page of white with no posts and no pictures and all that I’ve written for 6+ years gone (I thought for good) was devastating. In that moment I realized something I maybe hadn’t before. How much I NEED this blog. How much I NEED you guys. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. A huge thank you to my hubby as well. He’s a software engineer and was able to get all of the site back up and running except for this post.
Today, I wanted to talk about this simple Thanskgiving tablescape. I’m the kind of girl who’d rather have pizza at home then go out, I’d rather pop popcorn and watch a movie snuggled on the couch and I love slipping on jeans and my favorite cashmere sweater. I like to keep it simple. I’m not different with my decor. I want my family and our meal to be the focus.
Would you guys believe me if I told you EVERYTHING on this table is from Target and Ikea, well, except for the brass candlestick holders. Those were from our local charity shop. You don’t have to spend tons to have a really pretty table.
Even our chairs are from Ikea.
Luke built our farmhouse table from reclaimed heart pine from Georgia and we repurposed the legs. The Welsh dresser was a lucky Facebook Yard Sale find! Yay! This will be our first Thanksgiving with this new set up.
The chippy milk painted cabinet I’ve had for a few years now and I adore decorating it differently for each season. You guys know this shade of blue is my favorite color. It’s Eulalie’s Sky Milk Paint. It’s decorated with beautiful silver dollar eucalyptus. I love it so much! When in water it lasts and lasts.
Also on this cupboard is a sweet little bear, hand-felted by my sister-in-law, Sharon. She makes the most unbelievable creations with her own wool. You can see more of her beautiful work here. Both our boys brought home when of her creations when we visited Cornwall last February.
Our table is set with pretty gold placemats from Target and I’m also loving the gold flatware. It really adds warmth to the space.
See how pretty it is glistening in the sun?
Instead of place cards or printables I added a small sprig of eucalyptus on each tablesetting.
These striped napkins are from the Hearth & Hand collection at Target. I can never resist stripes. Never. Ever.
I also added some fresh pears on wood pedestals.
and in a wooden bowl (also from Target).
In the past I’ve done huge branches in the center or giant centerpieces and I thought with something low and simple we could chat easier. No need to have a hard time seeing each other or passing the potatoes.
This long bowl has the most delicious candle. It has a lovely fragrance and I think can be used all winter. I’ve tucked in air plants and pears.
I hope you enjoy this post as much as I did writing it (twice).
I’m really looking forward to enjoying Thanksgiving and taking a few days to love on my family. They are all so important to me. Tomorrow I will brave the supermarket and I will be back here on Wednesday with a few easy, last minute ideas in case you need more inspiration.
I’ve included some affiliate links below if you want to shop the post. If you purchase via an affiliate link I receive a portion of the sale. Thanks for supporting my blog in this way.
So sorry about your website woes. I could not get the site to open for the last two days, and thought if it wasn’t fixed maybe I should let you know. At least you got your content back! Nice to have a computer-smart husband.
