A Wish
For a very long time I’ve had this wish…
A wish for a home with a white picket fence, cascading flowers and a sun drenched yard my family can frolic in.
I’ve dreamed of a home filled with merriment and laughter, but also with sparkling crystal door knobs, built in china cabinets and beautiful hardwood floors. A home filled to the brim with charm.
Often times wishes don’t come true all on their own.
This is the case with mine. For years I’ve dreamed of this house, but it took many, many people to make my wish come true.
Today, I’d like to thank them:
To my husband, thank you for listening to me go on and on and on about this old house in my dreams. Thank you for listening to me talk about gables, period details and all things I find charming in old homes. I know you’d prefer to be tinkering on your computer than watching Rehab Addict or walking around the dusty flea market grounds with me.
To my parents, who planted the seed to love old, historic homes. You inspired me with all the work you did on Bartlet Street and with Baldwins. Thank you for all your help this week – helping me pack, watching the boys and making sure we’ve eaten something.
To Tanya, my lovely friend and realtor, you found this beautiful home for us. Our dream home. You really listened to our desires and made our dreams a reality. So excited for a lifetime in this new home.
To Dan Burkhardt, and everyone else and Burkhardt Moving Co., thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You made moving so much easier than we thought it would be. You protected all of my painted pieces, helped me arranged rooms and also kept my two little loves entertained.
To our dear friends, who reassured us while we were going through this process and who also stored all of our junk in their homes. We are truly grateful.
Wishes don’t often come true on their own but with a little help from family and friends…
they do.
Can’t wait to take you on a tour later this week!
