Boys Bedding
I enjoy hanging out in my kids’ rooms. I love that home decor can be a bit more playful in these spaces and I’m so excited to share my new boys bedding and home decor line!
Well, I say boys, but really this is gender neutral. I’m a big fan of sea life and I turned my watercolor whales and whale sharks into fun surface pattern designs available in wallpaper, fabric and home decor products, including duvets.
This room used to be Luke’s office and became Conor’s bedroom a few years ago (during Covid). It was important for our kids to have their own spaces.
He’s loved his room ever since. We all love the wall color which is hidden sapphire by Benjamin Moore, it just makes the space feel so cozy, like a warm hug!
Sea Life Bedding
I surprised Conor with the Whale Sharks Duvet for Christmas! He was so excited. I love how Spoonflower wrapped it up with a care tag.
In my Spoonflower Shop my patterns are available in all kinds of bedding options – sheet sets, duvets, pillows (shams and euro shams), and lumber pillows.
Duvet 101
I wasn’t aware of duvets until I went to England during my junior year abroad. I’d always been a comfortable girl, but now we only have duvets in our home and I’ve converted my mom, too!
What’s a Duvet
In Britain, a duvet is a soft quilt filled with down, feathers, or a synthetic fiber, used instead of an upper sheet and blankets.
The boys duvet inserts are from Ikea and I love using fun and playful duvet covers for them.
What makes Spoonflower Duvets Unique
- Spoonflower duvet covers are made from 100% Perennial Sateen Grand fabric woven in Italy and printed in the USA.
- These duvet covers soften with every wash.
- The design is printed on both the front and back
- Comforter ties inside each corner keeps the insert in place easier.
- Discreet hidden zipper for easy closure
- By shopping Spoonflower you’re are supporting independent artists and designers, like myself!
A Peek at Updates in his Space
He’s loving this new bedding. Here’s a peek of it on his bed:
The painting to the left of his bed is by my friend Becky, The Pink Frame. She originally painted this for the dining room but I love it with the whale shark bedding and dark walls.
Our Conor loves to sail and I was happy to frame an image of him in the Hull Regatta:
The simple white frame is from Ikea.
With each year this space becomes more and more a reflection of Conor.
If you look closely you’ll see his floating shelves that display his lego and a buoy I hand painted with Satuit Boat Club (where he sails in the summer) on it.
The Sea Life Collection
I’m so excited to introduce you to the Sea Life Collection. This is a collection of whale sharks, sperm whales, humpback, and orca whales, hand-painted in watercolor.
I had so much fun painting these whales and I’m so excited to see them in homes across the country – they’d be great in nurseries, kid’s bedrooms or playrooms. Be sure to share photos with me of your spaces!

This is so cool, Danielle! Your watercolors look awesome as a pattern. And Conor’s bedroom looks so cozy. I loved watching my kids personalize their bedrooms to make them their own…even when my youngest daughter, as a pre-teen, pasted magazine pics of Justin Bieber all over her walls and ceiling! Lol! Luckilly, that was a short lived phase!
