Chocolate Dipped Oreo Mummies
Get in the Halloween spirit with our Chocolate Dipped Oreo Mummies.
I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely LOVE Halloween. Ever since I was a little girl it’s been my favorite! I love getting dressed up and making costumes for the kids.
A few weeks ago, I saw chocolate dipped mummy cookies at Marshalls and was inspired to try making some. Conor loves to cook so thought it would be a fun project to do together. Over the weekend we created Chocolate Dipped Oreo Mummies. These were so fun and easy to do.
We created both milk chocolate and white chocolate mummies, but I think I like the white ones the best. What do you think?

Chocolate Dipped Oreo Mummies
Ingredients
- Oreos
- White Chocolate Chips
- Milk Chocolate Chips
- Eyes
- Microwave
- Microwave safe bowl
- Wax Paper or Freezer Paper
Method
Step 1 – First you want to melt the chocolate chips. You can use a double boiler over the stove top, but I thought the microwave would be easier. I followed the microwave instructions on the packages which said, “Heat chips in microwave safe container at medium power (50%) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Stir until bowl no longer feels warm. Continue heating at 15-30 second intervals stirring until smooth.
Step 2 – Dip Oreo into chocolate. We dipped one side at a time as recommended by my good friend, Barbara, who is a fabulous baker.
We placed the chocolate dipped Oreos on freezer paper with the wax surface up as I couldn’t find wax paper. Allow to set.
Step 3 – Repeat Step 2 on the other side.
Step 4 – While the chocolate is still soft stick on the eyes.
It’s fun to play with eye spacing and positioning.
Step 5 – Once chocolate is set, drizzle melted white chocolate over using a spoon or a piping bag. I just used a spoon. Allow to set.
Now, it’s time to enjoy your Halloween treats! Perfect to serve at a Halloween party or gathering or enjoy with your kids / grandkids.
I had some fun taking photos afterwards.
As you can see, Max was very curious about the whole process.
Which do you like better? The white chocolate ones or the milk chocolate with white chocolate?
I hope you enjoy making these as much as we did. Oh, and if you’r looking for more Halloween inspiration, here’s some previous projects.
