Coastal Christmas at Night
Things are very merry and bright and I thought, as my last post of 2018, I’d share our coastal Christmas at night.
There’s magic in the air. Can you feel it?
As I write this, I’m sipping warm tea and nibbling on a gingerbread cookie and listening to the Beach Boys Christmas Album. I’m very excited to be spending the holidays at home with my mom, Luke, the boys and our two sweet dogs (Max and Poppy). In fact if you look closely in these outdoor photos you can see both Max and Poppy peeking out. Wondering what on earth I’m doing.
I’m excited to be joining a bunch of my blogging friends in a Christmas Nights Hop hosted by my friends Kristen and Courtney. All the links are at the end of this post.
Christmas Exterior at Night
Did you see Max yet?
If not, here’s a closer look. This is his favorite spot for looking out:
This year I’ve shared many Christmas posts. You can see all my Christmas posts here. Included are some home tours, recipes and crafts, just incase you missed anything.
I also wanted to preface this with how nervous I get about taking night-time Christmas photos. I really stress out about it. Ha! Ha! I did a few trial runs at different times of night with a tripod and with different camera settings. I still have A LOT to learn and I feel like our home looks prettier in person at night than these photos show, but wanted to share a glimpse.
Let’s head inside:
Our Christmas Sunroom at Night
Pretty french ornaments fill a giant shell and adorn our flocked tree.
This is the tree you can see through the windows on the left side of our home.
Pretty pastel colors, a few sea glass ornaments and lots of twinkly lights make this room perfectly coastal.
Our Christmas Playroom at Night
This is the first year we’ve had a tree in the playroom and my kids loved decorating this one.
It glows because I added extra string lights – those are shell lights 😉
Conor took this photo himself 😉
I couldn’t resist taking some photos of him in front of the tree.
He’s wearing his new Christmas jammies… They have dogs all over them.
It really is so special to celebrate the holidays with children. He lights up with excitement and is counting down the days until Christmas.
Our Christmas Living Room at Night
This tree was new this year and we love it so very much!
Lots of twinkly lights, branches, and sea glass inspired ornaments.
Look at these two all cozy…
I can’t believe another Christmas is nearly here and another year will have passed by. This is my last post of the year and I want to take this time to thank each of you for taking the time to visit the blog. It is our great pleasure to share our little life by the sea with you. I so enjoy writing this blog, taking photos and sharing our family with you all!
From our home in Scituate to your home, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wish you all the magic and wonder of a child this season.
I will be taking some time off to spend this special time with my boys and dogs but will be back in the New Year! Until then we’ll be waiting patiently for Santa to arrive:
He actually fell asleep here while I was taking photos….

Danielle — I love your beautiful home and have been enjoying your sweet blog. I am gearing up to launch a blog of my own in the new year. I too live by the sea — literally. Just moved to Maine and built a house on the coast. I have many blogging questions, but am wondering particularly what camera you use. I am a newbie to all this! Enjoy your time off and the holidays with your family! My kids are all grown, but it is still so special when they come home for the holidays. This will be the… Read more »
Hi Molly, congratulations on starting a blog. I absolutely love the name. Maine is such a fantastic place. I upgraded my camera. I started with a Canon Rebel t3i and used that for 5 years. I upgraded to a Nikon D850 last winter. I would start with a cheaper camera to practice with and then upgrade. You can see some of my camera equipment here: https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-2ed4eb24 Send me an email if you have other blogging questions. Happy to help. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas xx
Marry Christmas , and thank you for the lovely photos.
Danielle,
What a magical Christmas Tour. Max and Conor are super cute and I love that Conor took a photo for you! So, sweet to see that he helped you and then fell asleep with lights on his body! Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!
Thank you, Janine. Aren’t Conor and Max cute. He was trying so hard to help me and it was pretty late at night. Then he just fell asleep. Ha! Ha! Excited to visit everyone’s homes on the tour. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas! xx
