Coasting: DIY Coasters
The weather is warming up, the days are longer and soon it will be time to have cocktails out on the deck. I love G & T’s, margaritas and Pimm’s and Lemonade (the last one especially on hot summer days in the garden).

With this in mind, I decided to make my own coasters using cork rounds. I saw a fanatic pin on pinterest using maps for coasters. So I started with maps, but have moved on to other images too. Aren’t these mussels sweet? The vintage mussel graphic is from The Graphic’s Fairy:
If you want to make your own coasters, here’s what you’ll need:
Cork Rounds (make sure they are thick – the ones at the craft stores aren’t thick enough, I used 1/4 inch thick)
Maps or printed images
Mod Podge
Circle Cutter (Optional)
Vintage Butterfly Coaster – ready for spring |

I love this idea! Do you know I have never used Mod podge? ! I need to buy some. I see all these cool crafts using this stuff. This may have just been my inspiration:)
Your map coasters are gorgeous! They have a great beachy feel to them! Coming over from The Graphics Fairy and your newest follower. =)

That is really an awesome idea. I have my DIY coasters before, but not like this. I’m definitely going to try it. I am your latest follower. I found you via French Country Cottage. Hope you will stop by.
Great idea!
