Count Your Eggs Before They’ve Hatched
That is if you are using Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg Blue. I have to tell you this is such a beautiful color. It has some blues and some greens and it truly encompasses the color of a duck’s egg. I also love how restful it is.
Here is a chair I painted to go with my desk:

Here is what the chair looked like before:
Before |
The chair was falling apart (see at the bottom) the wood had to be re-glued. It had also been stored in our crawlspace for several years so was filthy and slightly furry. Got the bleach out and really washed it down. Then glued the chair legs back together with wood glue.

I also added a coral stencil in the same blue to go with our seaside home. Finishing with clear wax:
Hi Danielle! Thank you for letting me know there was no linky on my Project Pinterest post! I fixed it. I’m using the comment form here because I didn’t see an email to reach you at.
Sarah:)
Your chair turned out beautifully. (One of my New Year’s resolutions is to try chalk paint.)
I’ve been using chalk paint for a little over a month. Once you start using it you won’t want to use anything else. It dries so quick and there is no priming or sanding to prepare. It is great!
Lovely. I really do need to start experimenting with chalk paint …
Linda, you’ll love the chalk paint!
Hi! Visiting from tt&j. Love the new color of the chair! Its great 🙂
I would love for you to share this (and any of your other favorite posts from 2011) at my Friday link party if you get a chance 🙂
Thanks, Kelley.
Don’t you just love chalk paint!? I’m your newest follower-stop by for a visit!
Pretty makeover!!
Claire, stopped by and saw all your sewing. Just got a sewing machine for Christmas so I may need some advice 🙂
Oh, I really like your “new” chair. I recently painted some chairs in Duck Egg Blue, too. Don’t you just love the color? I like that you added white on the spindles.
Thanks, Jennifer. I LOVE the duck egg blue. I feel like each ASCP color I use I like more than the last, but duck egg blue is just so serene.
Love the chair. I featured it on “My Favorites” today!!! Stop by and check it out!
Thank you so much for including me in your favorites. It really means so much.
