Cozy Fire Pit and S’mores Nights
There’s nothing more cozy than a crackling fire on a summer’s night. Learn more about our cozy fire pit and S’mores nights.
All winter I dreamt of relaxing by the pool and in our backyard with the boys and our dogs. The tangy salt air breeze, sitting in our adirondacks and catching up with eachother.
Our stay at home orders have become Stay Safer here in Massachusetts and things are starting to reopen. Back in March Luke and the boys ordered me an early birthday gift the whole family could love – A Solo Stove!
For many years we’ve talked about Luke building a fire pit but I often change my mind on where I want things placed in our yard so we started thinking about a portable fire pit.

The Solo Stove is covered in the above picture.
What is a Solo Stove?
A Solo Stove is a portable fire pit which comes in many sizes. The stoves are made out of stainless steel and started out as camp stoves. They are double barreled so are actually smokeless once the fire gets going. This was the selling point for me! No smoke!
The fire burns very hot and is mesmerizing to watch.
When the Solo Stove arrived it was shiny silver but as we use it the metal oxidizes and becomes more of a bronze patina.
What size do we have?
We opted for the Yukon 30″ which is the largest they make. They are actually retiring this size but you can still order now until June 30th. It is being replaced by a 27″ model. We went with this size because our yard is large and thought the smaller one might look too small. This was the perfect size for our family.
We also opted to get a stand, spark screen, cover and a few other accessories. Amazon also carries many of their products.
We all look forward to ending the day with a fire, good conversation and s’mores.
Making S’Mores
The Solo Stove is perfect for roasting marshmallows. We actually invested in the Marshmallow Roasting Sticks.
They come in their own carrying case so would be great for car camping, too.
It actually roasts the marshmallows in about 30 seconds and they’re most delicious toasted marshmallows we’ve ever had. They go crispy on the outside but soft on the inside.
We love using Taza Chocolate in our S’mores for a more gritty flavor the stone ground chocolate supplies. The Coconut Almond tastes so good with the melting marshmallows and graham crackers.
This is our favorite way to spend an evening by the sea.
So very cozy spending time together.
So very relaxing.

There’s nothing cozier than curling up around a fire. We’ve actually been eying up this exact firepit, so it’s really helpful to hear your thoughts about it. Sounds like it’s just what we need. Can’t wait to recreate a cozy evening in our own backyard just like this!
What a cool fire pit! Have you ever made s’mores with homemade marshmallows? They’re the best!
There’s nothing like relaxing by the fire pit on a summer evening! I love the look of yours! Enjoy!!
Looks like a fun and yummy place for your family. It reminds me of when I was young, we had an old barrel we use to burn trash in and sometimes mom would fix a table for a picnic of hotdogs and marshmallows to roast while we were burning our trash. Memories are being made by that Solo firepit.
Getting cozy and losing yourself staring into the fire is my favourite summertime activity. I love the picture you painted, “The tangy salt air breeze, sitting in our adirondacks and catching up with eachother.” that sounds magical!
Love the idea of no smoke, I think that’s the worst part about a fire pit. I may have to look into one of these now or at least as a gift for my son! Thanks for the info my friend 🙂
