Cozy Spring Bedroom Ideas
A few ideas to make your home feel even more special. Read on for cozy spring bedroom ideas.
If you truly love nature, you’ll find beauty everywhere.
Vincent Van Gogh
Even in these dark times there is so much beauty in the world. Mr. Rogers said to look for the Helpers and I’m seeing them everywhere from healthcare works to grocery store employees to delivery drivers and neighbors and friends. With these slower times at home, I’m witnessing so much beauty within our home and garden. I’m seeing new leaves unfolding on plants and the buds of our forsythia starting to open, spring plants bursting through the wet soil, unaware of the health crisis facing us.
I’m sure we’re all looking for ways to make our homes feel a little more cozy now that we’re all inside. I thought this would be the perfect post for April’s Cozy Living Series hosted by my friend Jennifer over at Town and Country Living.
Cozy Spring Bedroom Ideas
Add White Bedding
Since we did our bedroom over a few years back we’ve enjoyed a taupe linen duvet cover and shams. I decided to swap it for a simple white duvet and shams. This duvet is actually a king size and I love how the oversized duvet falls on our bed. Our mattress is quite high. You may remember when we got it a few years back. The oversize duvet makes it feel like more of a sanctuary. I borrowed the faux fur throw from the living room 😉
Max seems to like the new additions.
Max often sleeps between Luke and I which makes it very cozy 😉
White brightens up our bedroom and feels fresh for spring.
Decorate with Branches
Here in New England not much is in bloom in the yard, except for Forsythia. The pops of yellow are so happy and I love bringing them inside our home. I’ve placed cut branches in little votive holders. It’s perfectly acceptable to repurpose other items as vases.
My husband actually built this bedside table and the top is a faux soapstone finish. You can see the tutorial here.
I’ve also placed forsythia in woven bottles on his dresser.
Make Time for Reading
I love to read in bed! I just need to go to bed earlier, as I usually fall asleep before reading enough. Do you guys have the same issue?
I just finished The Goldfinch which I enjoyed but seemed to take me FOREVER. I’m currently reading Digging Deeper by Fran Sorin, a book on creativity and gardening. I’m also hoping to read The Shell Collector and Where the Crawdads Sing.
As you can see I have a WHOLE pile of books waiting in the wings.
I love the illustration on The Shell Collector and All The Light We Cannot See is one of my favorite books!
Mix in Faux Florals
Since we can’t really get out as much as usual, I’m relying on faux spring florals. This tulip arrangement is from Balsam Hill a few years ago.
The look so lifelike and I’ve used them in so many rooms in our home.
I’ve also used faux florals by Balsam Hill on my dresser:
Make Time to Exercise
To feel at one with myself I try to practice yoga, barre, or pilates each day. My bedroom has become my yoga studio and I’m doing classes online with Balance Studio. I simply unroll my mat in the area by my dresser.
Add Serene Art
I love the ocean and this photograph always makes me feel so peaceful.
Use Items in Your Bedroom with Special Meaning
I love to antique so you’ll see lots of vintage elements.
A vintage jar holding my make up brushes or this pretty tin which belonged to my grandmother.
I still remember the day she gave it to me when I was just a little girl.
The shell mirror was a gift from my mom on our first trip to Brimfield.
My favorite perfume. Don’t you love the bottle? It reminds me of living in London.
Enjoy Natural Light
Our bedroom gets afternoon sun and it’s glorious on a sunny day. Most of the photos I took in the morning and it was overcast. Then the sun came out.
I hope this gave you some ideas for your own bedrooms and homes. I’ll include a full source list below because we’ve done lots of DIYs and I’ve painted all the furniture in here as well.
I think Max and I will head back to bed…
It seems like a good idea…

Everything looks gorgeous, and inspires me to make the change to our spring/summer bedding and lighten things up. I looked through your resource guide and didn’t see the bedside clock, where is it from?
Hi Lisa, thanks for your kind comments. I can’t believe how much brighter the white bedding has made our bedroom feel. Oh, you know. I didn’t realize people would be interested in the alarm clock, but have added it to the sources. Here’s the affiliate link: https://amzn.to/2UZSl7r My husband gave it to me a gift a few years back and we bought one for our son as well. It actually wakes you up by brightening a light and then an alarm goes off at the set time if the light hasn’t already woken you up. I usually wake up with… Read more »
Everything looks so restful and serene and I love all of the beautiful little touches you’ve added – they make everything feel so warm and cozy! And I LOVE the new white bedding!!!
Thank you! I love the brightness the new white bedding brings. xx
Okay, first of all I just adore Max! I also adore your super cozy bedroom! I’m a big fan of white in the bedroom. So crisp and clean (though our dog sleeps on our bed as well and he and white don’t always go so well together!!!
Thanks for sharing all your cozy ideas and your vintage finds. And that serene picture of the boat on the ocean is a favorite of mine!
🙂 Linda
Isn’t Max the cutest?!? He can be such a snuggle bug at night, but I agree sometimes it’s hard to keep white with a dog. Hooray for bleach and washing machines 😉 I also love that boat photograph. It’s so peaceful.
You’re lucky to have forsythia blooming right now. Here in Michigan nothings ready yet 🙁 I’m a big reader and I actually panic when I run low on books. I love looking through other peoples book stash. Your mirror reminds me of ones my Grama who lives in Florida makes, it sure brought back memories. Beautiful space my friend!
I love escaping into a book. I’m reading Where the Crawdads Sing right now. It really is a beautifully written book. LOVE shells. I collect them. Your grandma’s mirrors sound lovely. xx
Such great tips for cozying up your bedroom! Your bedroom is so beautiful and I love all of the special details! Also, a fan of Jo Malone scents!!!
So glad you like my tips 😉 Isn’t Jo Malone’s fragrances so lovely. I love them, too.
I too love Joe Malone. The tin from your gandma is beautiful; looks art deco. I want to come over & lie in your bed. I’m fairly new to your blog–AND I LOVE IT! Your have such a good eye. I wish that I could decorate. Lucky you!!
I think it is art deco. Maybe from the 30s. Thank you so much for your kind words about my decor. You can totally decorate. I try to focus on elements I love and use them in our home. xx
Lovely space. Can you tell me the finish/color of your beautiful wood floors? Thanks so much…
Thank you! Sawyer Mason actually changed the name of the finished we used. Our finish is the Chestnut Hill finish. Originally, it was called Sierra but has been renamed. You can see a recap post I did on the floors here – https://www.findingsilverpennies.com/how-are-our-hardwoods-holding-up/ Hope it helps!
