Creating Farmhouse Style
Creating farmhouse style is easier than you think, especially when armed with my friend’s brand new book! Liz Fourez just published the most beautiful book in December and I asked my hubby to give it to me for Christmas.
Sure enough under the tree, it was beautiful wrapped. Thank you, Luke.

The next day I sat in living room with cups of coffee and read it cover to cover.
I’ve been a big fan of Liz’s blog, Love Grows Wild, for some time. Her home is an inspiring showcase of farmhouse style and I have loved watching her transform her beautiful farmhouse for her and her boys. Yes, she lives on an actual working farm and is also trying to make it beautiful on budget like all of us.
I had the pleasure of meeting Liz at Haven Blog Conference this year and had so much fun chatting with her. Funny story – we actually went out with a group of friends and ended up sitting in a back room of a pizza restaurant while the rest of the place was filled with the sounds of karaoke. We sat amongst pizza boxes having dinner. So funny.
When I saw Liz’s book was available I just had to have it! I adore farmhouse style. Due to my love for coastal and simple decorating I’m drawn to this look more and more. I love white shiplap and chippy cabinets and white crockery.
A Touch of Farmhouse Charm is beautiful inside and out. Look at that gorgeous sign, the step by step tutorial is inside the book. The book is divided by room and also lists all the projects’ difficulty level.
There’s truly something for every room and Liz writes in such an approachable way. I felt like she was chatting to me over tea while I read or we were chatting while DIYing.
I’m in love with the above bench she created out of doors. The boot tray is a fun DIY in the book.
Liz takes ordinary objects you have in your home and transforms them. She uses glue to create a crackle on a stool and gives her tricks for making wood look old for frames. Her secret tips and tricks are on every page.
I am so thoroughly inspired and the book has made me look at and think about some new projects I want to tackle for our home.
There’s fun DIY art like this that she created for her kids’ playroom:
New to sewing? Then why not make these fun tied pillows! They’re on my “to make” list.
The photography is swoon worthy and all the projects are do-able. I really think you’ll love this beautiful book, with Liz’s help you can add a warm and rustic feel to any room.

I think I might have to pick up that book too!
Brilliant minds think alike, I asked my hubby to put that book under the tree for me too! Lots of great projects inside. I’m looking forward to trying some of them too.
Oh no! Just tried to order it and it’s out of stock. Hopefully they will get more in soon!
