Delicious Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
The aroma of chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven says pure comfort to me. We bake these delicious double chocolate chip cookies often and I’m excited to share them with you.
Don’t they look good?
It’s time for our next installment of Cozy Living Series hosted by my friend Jennifer over at Town & Country Living.
Last month I shared a cozy and inviting outdoor fall tablescape. I created the pumpkin lanterns with our youngest son, Conor.
It’s now November, the leaves are turning here and cooler temperatures are arriving in our coastal New England town. It’s the perfect time for baking. Both our boys love baking BUT I think they love licking the batter bowl even more 😉
Hygge is all about comfort. When we bake together I always feel so happy. Not to mention the lovely reward of these delicious cookies. I always love when the chocolate is still melting. You may be wondering why I use both milk and white chocolate but it’s because John loves milk and Conor loves white chocolate.
Delicious Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 Cup butter, softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 Cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 Cup white sugar
- 2 Cups Milk Chocolate Chips
- 1 Cup White Chocolate Chips
Method
Preheat oven to 350 farenheit.
In your mixer, beat butter, eggs, sugars, and vanilla; until creamy.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, salt, and baking soda. Add this mixture to the above wet mixture. Make sure to add flour mixture slowly or it can make quite a mess.
Stir three cups of chocolate chips in by hand (I used the paddle spurtle by Polders Old World for this).
Once combined chill in the fridge for at least an hour.
Either use a reusable baking mat or or parchment sheets. Place rounded tablespoons of the batter on baking sheet. Bake in oven for 10-12 minutes. You want the edges to be golden brown. Make sure the cookie has set before removing it from the baking tray.
Allow to cool on a cooling rack.
*the measuring cups are by Polders Old World, too, and make a great gift for the foodie in your life!
The only problem is I never make a enough. 😉
I hope you enjoy making these for your families.
If you enjoyed these you might also like my Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies and Ferrero Rocher Cookies. I love baking cookies and find that they make great gifts around the holidays. The base of these cookies is all the same with a few changes. It’s essential to refrigerator the dough for all the recipes, though. I think it helps the cookie hold together while baking.
