DIY Army Soldier and Tank Costume
Our youngest son love all things army. He adores playing with army soldiers and tanks in the playroom and having nerf wars in the yard. This year we created a DIY army soldier and tank costume.
I’m so glad you guys enjoyed my post yesterday. John certainly has his own dramatic flair with his spooky crow costume. Now it’s Conor’s turn! Welcome our All American Army guy!

They are so completely different in their styles, but LOVE that about them.
This costume was so fun and easy to pool together. In fact, the combat trousers are from Old Navy and Conor wears them as pants to school and to play in the yard. The shirt was from Primark two years ago (I’m surprised it still fits him). I couldn’t seem to find it on their website any longer.
The combat vest was from Amazon and we gave it to him as part of his birthday present this year.
My mom bought him the hat at Wahlburgers. We love that place, especially the Smahlburgers with Wahlsauce 😉 We actually brought the kids to the one in Hingham when Mark Wahlburg was filming in Boston, and we kept telling Conor to keep an eye out for him in the restaurant, but we didn’t see him.
We made the tank out of cardboard boxes and painted it a custom army green. Conor loved helping make the tank.
To create the army green we used General Finishes Paint in Nantucket Green, Queenstown Gray and Black Pepper.
As you can imagine, we’re getting quite excited for trick or treating in the harbor. Maybe I’ll bring my camera and take some photos on Front Street. Let me know if you’d be interested in seeing some.
I couldn’t resist taking one of them together 😉
Great costumes, I will be looking forward to seeing the costumes. Thanks for posting.
Great costumes and cute boys!
Your oldest son is so tall now!
Maybe you and your husband can dress up as Chip and Joanna. You already look similar!
Photos of the waterfront would be cool to see.
