Early Autumn: A Vintage Herb Crate & Fabric Pumpkins
The weather here in Scituate is getting cooler in the mornings and the evenings. We’ve started closing the windows.
I’m actually looking forward to wrapping up in my cozy cashmere sweaters and pulling on my favorite jeans.
Oh, and my Uggs. I’m getting the point in the year where I’ll happily trade my much loved flip flops for Uggs.
As I type this, I can hear the wind rustling the leaves on the sidewalk outside my door. Autumn is coming. There will only be a few more months that we can enjoy this room – our sunroom – as it doesn’t have any heat.
With a wall of windows, it is my little beachy room tucked in the sunshine on the corner of the house. The other day I played with the new vintage crate I got at Bent Nail Farm Antiques and filled it with fabric pumpkins I made along with some Queen Anne’s Lace from Trader Joe’s.
Ticking stripe and white pumpkins just look so good together and give a taste of the beach; getting ready for the end of sailing season.
I’m sad to see summer go but looking forward to all these wonderful holidays ahead – trick or treating in the harbor on Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. All firsts in our new home!
It is time to say good bye and hello to:
Lovely post! I love your long box with the pretty cloth pumpkins, which I’m gonna give them a try in making some for this Fall. I live in a kind of Fall, cold and sometimes sunny weather, but this will turn into spring soon. I’m in Ecuador in the southern hemisphere; so I do wear my uggs sometimes. Happy Autumn!

I love these fabric pumpkins! The perfect transition – a little bit summer and a little bit fall 🙂
Beautiful Danielle! I love the pumpkins 😉
Hugs,
Jamie
Love the box, love the pumpkins, and love the colours! Unique and special. Great job, Danielle.
Danielle, Love that crate and the pumpkins are so pretty!

These are really sweet Danielle- I love that they aren’t the normal color of pumpkins. It makes them really special. Our party’s theme this week is something blue if you are interested in linking up. They would fit right in. 🙂 Have a great week!
