Ever Wanted to Tour Our Home In Person?
Have you ever wanted to tour our home in person?
So you know how I told you Tuesday I had some exciting news to share with you?!?
Well, our home is going to be on the Scituate Art Association’s 2018 Home Tour which is this Sunday, December 9th from 1-4pm. Usually the locations are kept a secret until the day, but the organizers are letting me spill the beans about our home early incase any of you blog readers from out of town want to make a special trip to see our home in person.
Scituate Art Association Home Tour 2018
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 the day of the event. They can be purchased at the SAA’s Front Street Art Gallery and at the Inn at Scituate Harbor and by mail. A ticket purchase brochure is available on the SAA website, at the Gallery and in many local shops.
The tour booklets will be available for pickup on the day of the tour at the Front Street Art Gallery from 11 am. The Gallery will be open early so visitors have time to enjoy the Gallery, grab breakfast in the Harbor and then head out on the tour. The tour will run from 1-4pm with a reception at the Ellis House from 3-5:30pm.
The benefits will help fund the restoration of the Ellis House, upgrades to the art gallery, and help to fund community art events.
I also have a few baskets in the silent auction which will be at the Ellis House.
As you can imagine, I’m cleaning the house like crazy. We had window washers in (after I took these photos) and I’m trying to tidy all the things I can usually hide behind the camera 🙂
I’m currently tidying the playroom and all the legos.
I know I’ve shared two very detailed Christmas posts here and here.
But there is still so much you haven’t seen.
We’ve been very, very busy trying to make our little home shine.
I can’t share the other homes on the tour as they are a surprise for Sunday, but I can share the following:
“Tour plans include a Dutch Colonial built in the early 1900’s and well loved by the 4 families who’ve live there (that’s our home) ; a classic center entry cape, one of the early homes in Scituate, which has been tastefully updated while respecting its origins; in Minot, a traditional Shingle-style home reimagined for the 21st century; a 1960’s California-style embankment ranch with wonderful views of the Marsh and ocean peaks; and finally, a modular ranch designed by its owners for ease as they age. Each home reflects the unique tastes and interests of their owners. And last, on to the Ellis House, the SAA’s Victorian High Gothic Manse with Romanesque details. And, of course, all of the homes feature art from our Front Street Gallery Artists.”
For those of you who can make the tour, I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be visiting the homes with my mom and my friend and we’ll all be attending the event at the Ellis House following the tour.
I’ll try and take a few photos of our home all decked out for the tour as well.
How exciting for you Danielle. Good luck!!
Hi Diane, we’re really excited to welcome visitors in 🙂
Wow Danielle! How fun. I wish I could hop on a plane and come see your house on the tour. I’d bring my sister. My town has a tour every year. I usually go but missed it this year. Your house looks especially beautiful this year. Your dining room is my favorite.
I’m so sorry you don’t live closer. xxx
We have done Christmas Homes Tour in our town three times and I feel your cleaning “pain”. UGH!!
Ha! Ha! With two dogs, two boys and a husband who works from home the house doesn’t stay clean for very long. Unfortunately BUT I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Congratulations! This must be thrilling for you and your family!
Your house is charming and will surely be a highlight of the tour!
Thank you, Kathy. I just posted a follow up sharing how the house looked. It was fun to take part.
How exciting….I so wish I lived closer!!! Your home always looks beautiful…oxoxo
Susan, so wish you lived closer too!
