Fall Dining Room and HomeTalk
Our dining room is still one of my favorite rooms in the house.
It is a room that I just feel so happy to be in.
Last year around this time, I was painting walls, stripping the table, upcycling thrifted furniture and telling my hubby we had to have this chandelier! It is the most expensive thing in the WHOLE room.
This year it is nice that it is all done.
I’ve been doing a bit of decorating for fall.
You already saw my Jane Austen FREE printable…
I’ve added some more antique glass bottles and a baby boo pumpkin over there.
There are more hydrangeas on our china cabinet and displayed on the table.
Instead of flowers for a centerpiece, I’ve opted for more dried hydrangeas. I just love them so much. This time I’ve paired them with blue ball jars and an industrial crate. Mixing the industrial and the French look help give a more relaxed feel to this room, a room where we do homework and eat week night meals.
They are also the prettiest shade of purple.
I guess the point is you don’t need to spend a lot to get a beautiful dining room. You just need to be able to spot some diamonds in the rough 😉
Oh, I have to ask, are you following me on HomeTalk?!? It is a fantastic site filled with all kinds of inspiration for your home and garden. I’ve posted some makeovers and also asked many questions to the HomeTalk community. I think you’d all love the site if you’re not already familiar with it. Anyway, I’ve put together a board of 19 Cost-Consious Dining Rooms. Click on the photo to see all the awesome inspiration.
Stop by on Sunday for Silver Pennies Sundays and I’ll be back next week with a delicious autumn recipe and a fall house tour (this was just a sneak peek). Happy Friday! x

Well, I can certainly see why it is the favorite room in your house. It is a gorgeous room-full of life and warmth. I hope you are able to use it often. Have a great weekend- xo Diana
Such a gorgeous room to get to peruse while I rest myself. Your home is so welcoming and stylish at once. How do you do all you have to and keep your home so nicely? Are you an organized person to keep things in their place? Love your chandelier and all your hydrangeas around your house. lucky, lucky gal having producing hydrangea plants. Hope I kept things nice also when I was your age with 4 rascals messing it up. Actually the kids were outside a lot since we lived in Tucson and San Diego, hard to keep them inside.… Read more »
