Finding Silver Pennies Turns 5 (A Giveaway)
You guys, can you believe it? My little blog is 5 years old today!!!!! To me it really only feels like yesterday that I hit that “publish” button for the very first time. If you missed the beginnings of this blog you can see my very first post here. Well, it wasn’t much but it was the start. My first leap. My first jump.
I didn’t know then, the many, many adventures I would go on with this blog. Or the many friends I’d make, including all of you.
There have been some failures. Um, my booth at an antique mall when I first started the blog and some poor turn outs for antique shows. But there’s also been some amazing successes!
Some of the highlights (for me) were finding our house three years ago and turning it into our home (bit by bit).

You’ve seen a corner of our yard transformed into the most magical she shed:
You’ve attended Open Studios our done so virtually through the computer and we’ll be doing one this fall (hooray)!!!!
You’ve gone on the World’s Longest Yard Sale with me and helped me create a beautiful home for a family in Ohio.
These were my partners in crime. Yup. We got lost in Indiana. I’ve never been so tired but so full of joy to help a family.

Wow! So many amazing things have happened along this journey and most recently my eBook (which was a dream come true for me)!
You all have been so supportive of me and this blog! Many of you I’ve met in person, while others only virtually. I was trying to think of a way to thank you all for your kind comments on blog posts, your sweet emails or the hugs along the way. No way would this blog still be here if I didn’t have the BEST readers in the WHOLE world and I mean this from the bottom of my heart.

As a fairly new retiree I need to do more than always take care of everyone in my family! This will be for me! These young women are so amazing. They just dive in and start new things. The next project I have on the horizon is me and my fiancé are building and painting a DVD rack. (I didn’t realize until after he moved in how many more DVDs he has than me and I feel there are piles of DVDs all over the living room now)

Congratulations, 5 years of anything, but especially coming up with good content for your blog is quite an accomplishment. I have several pieces of furniture I want to paint. We have an older real oak entertainment stand that fits our flat screen, so is still a useful piece of furniture for us. The shelves that held tons of vhs then dvds are pretty much empty and now hold a cat bed and a bed for our chihuahua. I would like to paint it a pretty color and hang little curtain like pieces of fabric to match their beds. I sure… Read more »
