Friday Favorites (13)
It’s time for Friday Favorites where I share all my favorites in home decor, entertainment, and more!
You may remember that I started this series to feature a few of my favorite things from clothes, to paints, to food, and things to do with the kids. If you missed any you can see them here.

Favorite Holiday
I know it’s tomorrow, but Halloween is my favorite holiday and it’s also my kids’ favorite. We decked out our home with spooky fun and have enjoyed all these witches, crows, and skeletons. See the home tour here. We actually made this witch from one of John’s drawings.
Favorite Views
We’re still doing our morning walks but the sun is rising later. Here are a few shots from our mornings. How pretty is the fog over the marsh by 2nd Cliff?
The lighthouse looks pretty at any time of the day:
Favorite Books
I so enjoy reading design books. Abode is a wonderful book with great tips. It has minimalist approach which is refreshing. I found a faucet in there that I’d love when we finally do the kitchen over.
The other month I told you guys how much I love Jo Malone’s fragrances and Jo Loves. Well, I’m actually really enjoying learning more about her in her biography – Jo Malone My Story.
Her story is really amazing and she uses humor in her writing. I love learning how people got where they are and her story is so inspiring.
Favorite Wall Color
If your looking for a moody but jewel toned blue then I have the perfect color for you. We painted Conor’s room in Hidden Sapphire and it really is the prettiest blue. It compliments our dark woodwork but it would also be lovely and clean with white trim. You can see his room reveal here.
Favorite TV Viewing
Luke and I watched Rebecca the other night and absolutely loved it. I really love the book, and while it’s been years (maybe 20) since I read the novel, I loved this adaptation. Armie Hammer and Lily James were both wonderful. The costumes and sets are beautiful. It’s available on Netflix.
We watched the Murders at White House Farm over on HBO. This series is well done and depicts a murder that happened in the English countryside in the 80s. I wasn’t familiar with the story so it was interesting to watch the investigation unfold.
For fun and light TV viewing I’m enjoying Dream Home Makeover with Studio McGee and Million Dollar Beach House (think luxury homes in the Hamptons). Love folding laundry while watching those. Both are on Netflix.
Favorite Pendant
I’m in IN LOVE with our new lighting in the bedroom. I shared the new lighting the other day and our bedroom plans the other week. Shop the pendant here. Here’s how it looks in our bedroom:
Favorite Apparel
My absolute favorite jeans are by Athleta. I wear these almost every day and have them in a few colors. Love the dark wash for fall.
We’re also all loving cozy sweatshirts from our friends’ company The Golden Cod.
The sweatshirts are so cozy and soft. John and Conor love their hats, too.
Favorite Topic
Design! I love chatting about design and actually wrote a post on 5 common design mistakes. This seemed to be a popular post so I’m thinking of writing more. Let me know if you have any design dilemnas or would like to me to focus on certain areas of design. I also offer eDesign and in-home design services for people who live near Scituate, MA. If you’re interested in those services please reach out via email.
Well, I think that’s it for this Friday Favorites, what are you guys loving lately?
Hi! Enjoyed the Common Mistakes article! Very informative…especially the height of light fixtures over dining room tables. Thanks! Enjoy your blog!

Oh, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. There are instances where I’d hang a light fixer lower or higher depending on the situation but it gives you an idea. Let me know if you’d like more posts like that and if you have any specific questions. xx
