Favorite Views

We’ve started our early morning walks with the dogs again. This week’s fog rolled in and made the harbor look magical. It was a really lovely way to start our days together.

Here’s another image from the other day, when the fog was over 1st cliff.

Favorite TV

If you love food and Italy you MUST watch Stanley Tucci’s Searching For Italy. Oh my goodness, it will make you want to travel again. So far I want to go to the Amalfi Coast, Bolognia and back to Sicily. We love his films but have found him to be a wonderful interviewer and tour guide around Italy. He is Italian on both sides and speaks Italian so I’m pretty sure all the locals there loved him, too. Our kids say they can’t watch it because it makes them too hungry. It’s a wonderful program. On CNN on Sunday nights at 9pm.

We’re binge watching The Flash with our kids. It’s a super hero series that we’re all loving.

Favorite Art

I launched the California Collection last weekend, you can read the post here if you missed it BUT I’m loving this photography in our bedroom.

Favorite Window Treatments

Speaking of our bedroom. I’m LOVING these window treatments. A combination of Ikea and Select Blinds. The curtains were ultra-affordable with the look of linen! See the post here. I’m still searching for the perfect chair in here and still need to paint a bedside table.

Favorite Films

We just watched the 4 hour Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If you’re a super hero fan you will love this. It’s epic. Available to view on HBO.

We also loved Chef. This isn’t a new film. It came out in 2014 but you all know how much Conor loves to cook. It was a great look at the restaurant industry, food truck culture, and fatherhood.

The Dig was wonderful. We all enjoyed this film and we loved learning about an event that actually happened. It’s available to view on Netflix.

Favorite Poufs

After years of thinking about purchasing these pours I finally did it! I’m so happy I did. We love sitting by the fire with our feet up. Click here to read the post and click here to shop these exact ottomans.

Favorite Yoga Gear

Take Care Space just launched a brand new collection of Turkish designs, the Cicim Spirit Collection, which is inspired by traditional Turkish patterns and drawn by Ayca Kilicoglu. I’m also a huge fan of Take Care Space’s Yoga Mat Cleansers. I’ve been friends with Ji, the owner of Take Care Space for 20 years, you can read my Creativity Over Coffee chat with her here.

Favorite Books

My son introduced me to Stephen King and I’m currently reading On Writing – part memoir / part book on the art of writing. Really enjoying it. I don’t know about you, but some things I just didn’t learn in high school.

At Home with Dogs and Their Designers – Adored this book by Susanna Salk. I got it from the library but it was so fun reading about designers and their dogs. The dogs are just so cute. I’m eager to read her new book that just came out – At Home in the English Countryside: Designers and Their Dogs.

You all know how much I love Floret Flower Farm’s books. Erin just sent me her new one in the mail and it is fabulous.

Discovering Dahlias – is a beautiful book with loads of stunning photography of dahlias but great growing tips. John and I are doing a cutting garden behind the pool house and we just planted our dahlia and other seedlings (fingers crossed). I might write a separate post on our plans if it’s of interest.
