Friday Favorites (36)

Friday Favorites is a series where I share my favorite hobbies, books, films, TV shows, style and more!

How are we already through the middle of June? Sorry that Friday Favorites is a bit late this month, but I have lots of good favorites to share.

We are so very excited that school will be ending and that calm and carefree time here on the South Shore will begin!

Beach

Favorite Day

A few weeks ago we went out to The Spit with friends and it was so quiet and calm. This beach almost feels untouched and it is such a perfect place to unwind.

Favorite Accomplishment

Over the last 6 weeks, I’ve been working on my surface design portfolio and took an in-depth class in InDesign run by Genna Blackburn (enrollment is currently closed until the fall). It was wonderful! I’m starting to pitch brands my portfolio. You can see my portfolio here.

It is my dream to see my patterns on baby products and more home decor items. Currently my designs are available in my Spoonflower Shop.

Favorite New Products

The Great Blue Heron is so majestic and I always love seeing them on our morning walks with the dogs. This watercolor is now available as prints, note cards, notepads, and bookplates. See the range here.

Favorite Candle

You guys all know how much I love Minot Candles. They have a new fragrance out – The Cove – with hits of sage, lavender and cedar wood. It’s a new favorite.

Oh, and I love this electric lighter.

Favorite Films and TV

For TV we’re enjoying –

The Diplomat this is on Netflix and is a great political drama in the vein of the West Wing. Kerry Russell plays a diplomat and Rufus Sewell is her husband.

The Big Door Prize is a comedy on Apple TV and we’ve only watched the first two episodes. The premise is a machine arrives to a town that tells people of their true potential so the small town residents start changing jobs and make life changes based on the results from the machine. Chris O’Dowd is wonderful!

Daisy Jones – I LOVED this series soooooo much. I just finished the book and the show closely follows the book. It was amazing to hear the music. I really didn’t want this show to end! The cast is amazing and Reese Witherspoon’s company brought the book to life. It’s on Prime Video. I would read the book first before watching the show.

For films we’re enjoying-

The Choice – Great rom com based on Nicholas Sparks book which I haven’t read. I enjoyed watching this film on Netflix.

Love, Rosie – I LOVED this film. It’s also based on a book, but I haven’t read the book. Luke and I watched it the other night on Prime Video and really loved it. Great story on friendship and life set in England and Boston.

Favorite Books and Magazines

I adore deVOL kitchens and love their show. I couldn’t resist their BIG coffee table book. I plan on using this as a resource when we’re finally able to do our kitchen over. The book is gorgeous and the pages have beautiful photography and it’s so well written and lovely to hear more about the creative paths of Paul, Helen, and Robin.

Feel Free Magazine is out for it’s second installment. This one is a good one! It has Diane Keaton and loads of studio visits and a tour of Leanne Ford’s new home. Really lovely and inspiring.

I’ve also been going through Sharone Stevens book – Watercolor for the Soul. I love her classes on Skillshare and this book is wonderful. Painting is my way of relaxing and she has great tips and projects in this book.

Summer Favorites

I wrote a whole post about my Summer Favorites. So if you missed it you may want to check it out.

Favorite Event

John just went to his Junior Prom. I just had to share a photo with you. The gorgeous florals are by my friend Ginny at G & M Floral Design.
