Friday Favorites (45)
Happy Friday, friends! It’s time for Friday Favorites, a series where I share my favorite hobbies, books, films, TV shows, style, and more!
I can’t believe it but we missed Friday Favorites for April! It’s May and I’m so glad because it’s my favorite month!

Favorite Getaway
My favorite event, of course, has to be our family getaway to St. John. I’m still dreaming about snorkeling and swimming with our kids. Best vacation ever. You can read all about it here if you missed it.
Favorite Books
You all know how much I enjoy reading. I just finished Spells for Forgetting by Adrienne Young. This book was wonderfully written and features magic and spirits and is set on the remote Saoirse Island. There’s a mystery and a murder and it had me guessing up until the end what really happened. You may remember that I LOVED another book by her – The Unmaking of June Farrow.
I’m now reading A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. It’s the first in a series of books. Luke read them and couldn’t put them down. This book is set in a time where there are parallel Londons and magicians. It’s taking me a little bit to get into but I think I’m going to love escaping into this book once I do. You might remember how much I loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (by the same author).
I’d love to hear what you’re reading! Always looking for good books and new authors!
Favorite Floral Display
Back in April we went to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum to the see the display of Nasturtiums. It truly is such a beautiful display.
The Gardner does this display every year in honor of Isabella’s birthday and it’s quite a sight to behold. So beautiful.
I actually shared a reel on Instagram of the display. I think you get a better idea of scale from the video.
Favorite Dress
I’m LOVE this dress by Coastal Brahmin and it’s actually only $30 right now.
It’s so light and perfect for hot weather. I love the pretty hand block printed pattern.
Favorite TV / Films
We’ve been watching loads of great things!
TV
Palm Royal on Apple – Oh my goodness, we’re binging this show! It’s soooooooo good. What a cast – Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett (I’ve lover her since watching reruns of her show as a kid), Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Laura Dern, and so many more. Great sets and costumes – 1960s Palm Beach. Great writing and acting.
Cheap Old Houses on HGTV – this series started from their Instagram account which I also love. If you love old homes you will love going into these homes that need extra TLC. I enjoy folding laundry to this show.
Films
Irish Wish on Netflix – A whimsical rom com with Lindsay Lohan. This is a fun date night in set in Ireland.
The Beautiful Game on Netflix – We LOVED this soooooo much. It’s based on a true story and is so heartwarming. Bill Nighy is wonderful, as is the ensemble cast.
The Holdovers on Peacock – Superb! We watched this with our teens and were all laughing and crying. Great cast, great writing and reminds me a bit of Dead Poet’s Society. Really loved this film.
Scoop on Netflix – Inspired by true events, with Prince Andrew’s exclusive interview with Newsnight. Great acting from Gillian Anderson, Rufus Sewell, and Billie Piper. I was enthralled by this film.
Anatomy of a Fall on Hulu – I watched this on the plane heading to St. John and I was glued to the screen. I don’t think I’ve seen another film like this. It’s so well done and I’m still thinking about the characters and the story.
Anyone But You on Netflix – Another great rom com! We really enjoyed this one if you’re looking for a bit of fun set in Australia. It’s new on Netflix.
Favorite Announcement
We shared John’s exciting news. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already saw this, but he’ll be attending Rhode Island School of Design this fall and we’re so very proud of him! I’ve shared glimpses of college visits and the process on here so it’s so nice that he got into his first choice.

Hi Tammy, Thank you so much! We are so very excited for him and can’t wait to see all he explores and learns at RISD. We were so impressed with the school and all the different programs and global opportunities they offer.
I enjoy your Friday favorites!
I’m so glad you enjoy it, Elaine because I enjoy writing it 😉
Congratulations to your son John!
Love your new honey bee collection and that dress you are wearing.
Have a wonderful week.
Aw, thank you so much! I had so much fun creating the honey bee collection and I love Coastal Brahmin’s line of clothing. Michele is such a lovely person. I’ll be interviewing her for Creativity Over Coffee soon. So keep your eye out for our conversation. xx
