Friday Favorites (49)

Happy Friday, friends! It’s time for one of your favorite series (and mine) – Friday Favorites. I didn’t want to let the month slip by without sharing all my favorites.

I have lots to share this month from binge-worthy TV, fun fall style finds, and pretty flowers!

Favorite Flowers

My neighbor grew the most beautiful dahlias! Look at that rich wine color. Aren’t they stunning!?!

Favorite New Activity

I’ve just started teaching some watercolor classes at Noted. in Hingham. We had so much fun painting crabs in our first class.

Our next class will be Saturday, October 5th at 2pm and there are only a few spots left. Sign up here. We’ll be painting this pumpkin.

Favorite TV

Oh my goodness, I have two really amazing binge-worthy shows to share with you! Both are good and both are mysteries / thrillers.

The Perfect Couple on Netflix – This is an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s book which I have not read, but the show was soooooo good! The cast is wonderful, the writing fantastic, and the scenery – wow! It’s set on Nantucket. I can’t tell you too much but Nicole Kidman portrays famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury and is about to host a spectacular wedding for her son. But then, there is an accident, the wedding is canceled, and everyone is a suspect.

Books Beach and Beyond podcast also had a wonderful interview with Nicole Kidman that I really enjoyed. Listen here.

The Watcher on Netflix – This is based on a true story which I didn’t realize until I finished watching the show. I binged this in one weekend. Friday night I watched two episodes and then was scared to go to bed (Luke was away camping with friends), I watched three episodes on the Saturday night, and then the last two on Sunday. I want Luke to watch it now! It’s about a family who wants to move the suburbs from New York City and they find what they think is the perfect home, but someone is watching them. The home is stunning. I love the exterior and lots about the interiors too. I couldn’t stop watching this show. I’m not a horror person and this is listed on Netflix as horror but I’d say it’s more thriller or psychological horror.

Favorite Books

I’m currently reading a biography on John F. Kennedy Jr. from the perspective of his family and friends. JFK Jr.: An Intimate Biography is a beautiful and heart-breaking story of a little boy who lost his father too young and how he became a man defined by such a tragic loss. I’m reading about his early years right now.

Favorite Clothes

The other day I treated myself to a few things at J. Crew Factory Store in Hanover. I’m a big fan of this shop because they have really well made clothes at incredible prices. Sometimes outlets and factory stores have cheaper versions and the quality isn’t as good, but I don’t find that at the J. Crew Factory Store. They were offering 35-50% off most things and then 70% off clearance so I got a pair the Essential Straight All Day Stretch in petite length for $17!!!! The wash on the pair I got is “running lake”.

I have them on the photo above along with the girlfriend tshirt.

I also treated myself to the softest gray cashmere sweater – I love the neckline. I couldn’t resist these flare cropped jeans. Since I’m so short these jeans are actually regular length on me. I love the flare style and am always happy to find jeans the right length for my height.

Oh, and the above photo is a little sneak peek of the studio refresh, which I’ll be sharing on the blog real soon!

Favorite Day Out

My mom just turned 84 and I took her for a lovely lunch at the Square Cafe in Hanover. It really was such lovely day and I cherish the time we spend together.

Hi Danielle,
Oh!!! Those dahlias are gorgeous….so vibrant! If I lived close I would take your W/C class. All of your students did an amazing job. You must be a good teacher.
Happy Birthday to mom!!! I can’t believe she is already wearing a turtleneck!!!
I spotted that vase for the hydrangeas!!!….looking good! Haven’t seen any more, Cornishware at any of the sales but I keep an eye out. I think that was a fluke…”a just meant to be”.
Nice to see a new post……../jos..xx
