Things have opened up a bit more here in Massachusetts and we’ve gone out to eat outside a few times and also had our first date night outside in 4 months. I worry, though, that things will start shutting down soon.
Favorite Day
Our friend asked us if we wanted to go out on his boat and sail from Hingham to Scituate. We packed some sandwiches and seltzer water. It truly was my favorite day of the summer.

We moved to Scituate because we wanted our children to grow up with a love for the sea. Our two boys are so comfortable on the water and they love sailing. Look how at ease Conor is!

Favorite Books
I’m reading A Year in Flowers by Floret Flower Farm and absolutely love it. It has detailed instructions for creating beautiful and natural / wild looking arrangements and also has very detailed pictures of many different branches and flowers. It would be a great addition to your home library if you enjoy flowers or painting flowers for reference.
I’m planning on reading Floret Flower Farm’s Cut Flower Garden next. It’s my dream to have a cutting garden behind the pool house and hope to do that for next summer.
On the fiction side of things, I’m enjoying The Dutch House by Anne Patchett.
Favorite Drinks
I’m currently obsessed with Spindrift, seltzer water made with real juice. So delicious and refreshing. Got tons of cans to stock the pool house fridge.
Summer Favorites
This original watercolor artwork sums up my favorites of summer. It’s available in my online shop as single note cards, boxed note card sets and also limited edition signed framed prints.
Favorite Organizing Cart
We now have two of these carts in our home. One in my office and one in John’s bedroom. It’s great for organizing things and art supplies.
Favorite Dress
I love sundresses in summer and this is currently my favorite one from Boden. It ties 5 different ways so looks like 5 different dresses in one. It’s also currently on sale.
Favorite Films
We couldn’t stop laughing at Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. You can see the trailer here. Will Farrell and Rachel McAdams are wonderful and there are lots of cameos from Eurovision celebrities.
We also loved Marvellous based on the true story of Neil Baldwin. It won a BAFTA in 2015. You can see the trailer here.
Favorite Views
Finally, we’ve had some really beautiful sunsets and which we’ve viewed from our yard so wanted to share them with you. If you look closely you can see Conor swimming in the below photo:
