Gifts We Love for Dogs
I know many people get puppies around the holidays. We adopted Poppy right after New Year’s, January 5th (6 years ago in fact). Our little Max is kind of like an early Christmas present for us 😉 We love him to bits.
Of course, none of us can forget the dogs we love around the holidays whether they’re puppies or senior dogs. I thought it would be fun to round up our favorites to give you some gift ideas for the holidays. When possible I shop the smaller local pet shops. We have some great ones near us if you’re local. We love Wishbones in the Harbor and Devine on Rt. 123. If you don’t have a shop close to you, I’ve included Amazon links.

Okay, first things first if you’re getting a dog, we recommend a crate. We have crate trained both our dogs. We like the iCrate because it packs easily and is easy to carry up the stairs. We actually still have Poppy’s in the basement in case we need to contain her. Amazon has these on sales for $18 right now! That is an unbelievable price.
Your dog will need a little bed inside and we like this one. That’s what Max has and it’s washable.
Our dogs have matching white ceramic bowls. They didn’t get along well with metal. I love these because they’re stylish and clean looking but also heavy enough that a dog can’t flip it over. Max actually does walk in Poppy’s bowl though.
We also have the matching canisters on the counter and love how they look. We’ve had it for a few years now and it keeps treats and biscuits nice and fresh.
Treats
Speaking of treats. Max and Poppy both LOVE Buddy’s Biscuits. I get the Itty Bitty for Max and Large for Poppy. They’re favorite is Bacon or Chicken. We ordered the variety pack pictured and I need to order it again!
Both our dogs go crazy for Triumph Dog Biscuits too.
Toys
All dogs need some toys to play with. Our trainer recommends cycle them so dogs don’t get bored. Max loves fluffy non-stuffed ones like these. Max also is a huge fan of the Kong.
Beds
Once your puppy gets house trained, you may want to get them a bed. My parents just ordered Max this cute little bed from Orvis. It has memory foam inside and he looks so snuggly while he’s napping. In fact, he’s sleeping in his bed as I type this.
But the main thing I think all pets need is love and lots of snuggles. Well, those were a few of our dogs favorites. I hope that helps if you’re shopping for a little fur baby.
We have to keep our little pets happy 😉
Cute post, Danielle! So glad you’re having fun with your new puppy.
