Halloween Home Tour
Can you believe Halloween is this weekend? I’m sooooo excited that Halloween is on a Saturday this year. We’re ALL getting dresses up. The boys have changed what they’re being yet again and I’ve been scurrying around trying to get everything for their costumes. John is going to be a skeleton in a tux and Conor is going to be a skeleton knight (of course). Luke and I are also getting in on the action. He’s going to be Dr. Who and I’m going to be a Weeping Angel (they scare me like crazy!!!). Poppy will be herself.
Anyway, you may remember this photo from last year, heading off to the Harbor. I’ll be sure and so some pictures after.
But thought you all might want to take a spooky, haunted Halloween Home Tour. I have included some affiliate links in this post –
Outside has lots of pumpkins and graves from Target:
I found this brilliant feather wreath when I was on my umpteenth trip for Halloween costume supplies.
Don’t you love the feathers?
The graves are from last year, the pumpkins from the ASP Pumpkin Patch in Cohasset. We love going with the boys every year:
Don’t mind our guard dog, AKA Poppy, she doesn’t bite….
Please come on in, we’re having a slight infestation problem, so please watch your step.
Mice are everywhere!!!!
The boys loved these mice silhouettes and couldn’t stop laughing when they walked in the door from school 😉
There’s even rats on our mantel:
Oh, and spiders and a few bats, oh my! You may remember I shared the mantel here.
The boys helped me with this space. We gathered sticks in the woods and spray painted them and kind of went black and white crazy in here. Many of the items are from World Market on the mantel.
The sun room has a tiny bit of halloween decorating with this centerpiece:
I think the only orange pumpkin you’ll see inside my house:
The dining room is deck out for a party and we’re looking forward to having a roast dinner in here with my parents between trick or treating in the harbor and trick or treating in the neighborhood.
Even more wild life in here – birds on the table and bats on the napkins. I shared this festive tablescape stenciled with Royal Design Studio stencils here. Conor helped me make the caramel apples and the boys may have enjoyed these cupcakes for breakfast one morning.
The thing is I get so excited for this holiday. I don’t know what it is, but I feel just like a little kid. I love working on Halloween ideas with my guys and seeing all the fabulous costumes people come up with in the harbor. I’m really excited to be dressing up this year too. I also love handing out candy.
Do you get excited for Halloween too?
I’ve even used some of the kids toys to decorate with. The boys got boo’ed and they loved this little skeleton:
I know this skeleton has inspired John’s new costume choice.
Oh, I almost forgot there are more bats at our front door! I thought this was a fun angle from the stairs as I don’t think you’ve ever seen this perspective on the blog.
You may remember the graphite chairs I painted with Annie Sloan chalk paint, click here.

love it! i think the entry is my favorite! and i love that wreath you scored!
Some really cool stuff here…and so simple. I love the branches on the mantle…a spooky look to it…just in the stark and unexpected look it achieves. And the mice scampering up the steps…fun.
Always like the idea of a house coming to life after everyone is asleep…who knows what those mice and bats get into…grins, Sandi
Your house is marvellous and so inspiring. Have fun at the harbour and I will look forward to see the photos. Happy Halloween from still sunny England.
I love your spooktacular home tour! Such great touches and finds. I had the mice for our entry steps but got rid of them when we moved 2 years ago.
Raising my hand as a Halloween fan!
Danielle, this is fantastic! I really like the mice on the stairs and the bats on the walls, but your house is delightful. I hope your little ones had a Happy Halloween. I saw your link at Elizabeth & Co. link party.
