Halloween in the Harbor 2013

I think my favorite thing about Halloween is it is the one day you can be whatever you want to be.

If you can dream it, you can be it…

This year Conor had a whole long list of what he wanted to be.  Sometimes he’d say three different things in one day.  First it was a fireman, then an English police officer, a brave knight.  Then he came up with skeleton pirate because they’re spooky.  He settled on a regular, swash buckling pirate.

John wanted to be Obi -Wan for the 2nd year in a row – the force is strong in this one.

If you’re new around the blog, you may not know that it is a tradition in our seaside town of Scituate to trick or treat in the harbor.  The merchants fling open their doors and shower our children in good cheer and candy.  What could be better?!?  It is a much anticipated event that everyone in town loves.  We’ve gone every year.  Here’s some photos from previous years:

2010:
This year was so fun and the rain held off. The shops were all decked out, including Kjeld Mahoney Gallery:
I love the day of the dead make up over at Native:
There were so many great handmade costumes too:
Hope you had a fantastic Halloween!

If you’re local please remember to stop by my house tomorrow for my open studio. There have been many late nights this week getting ready for this fun event!

Wow that all looks awesome and I am so glad it held off for you guys. It was raining like crazy and it was dark so I did not get any pictures this year! 🙁 I wanted to take some inside before we left but friends came by and everyone was all excited and ran out the door. LOL
