Happy Lines
via |
Have you been noticing these same lines around your eyes? The more time goes by and the more moments with my kids, I too, am noticing that they are growing.
It hasn’t bothered me.
It hasn’t. Not one bit. I thought those “old crow’s feet” would, but I think Tyler Knott Gregson has it right.
These little laugh lines, these “scars of happiness”, happen because these boys have brought me so much happiness. Watching them frolic in fountains almost fully clothed:
To be surrounded by a room full of butterflies and have them actually want to rest on you.
To relive my childhood with my children. To ride on a fantastic carousel and hear their big belly laughs.
To swim in the sea and want to ride the waves. To get excited about how much candy we get on Halloween.
To look for that perfect apple or see which one of us is the fastest (I’ll give you a clue – it isn’t me).
I would not trade these scars of laughter for all the world!
Happy Friday, my friends! Thanks for reading and sharing this little life (and scars of happiness) with me.
That’s beautiful, Danielle. I agree completely, I love my laugh lines and wouldn’t trade them for the world.
Have a great weekend.
Lovely post, what a perfectly worded poem.
I hope you’re enjoying the weekend with your three boys !
